4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Hardware Installation
- Prepare your computer: Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord. Open the computer case.
- Select a PCI Express slot: Locate an available PCI Express x1, x4, x8, or x16 slot on your motherboard.
- Install the adapter card: Carefully insert the FENVI FV-AC1200 adapter card into the chosen PCI Express slot until it is firmly seated. Secure the card with a screw if your case requires it. If your computer case is a low-profile design, you may need to replace the pre-installed full-height bracket (12cm) with the included low-profile bracket (8cm).
- Connect the Bluetooth cable: Connect the 9-pin USB cable (black end) to an available 9-pin USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. Connect the white end of the cable to the dedicated Bluetooth connector on the FV-AC1200 adapter card. This connection is essential for Bluetooth functionality.
- Attach the antennas: Screw the two high-gain dual-band antennas onto the connectors on the back of the adapter card. Ensure they are securely tightened.
- Close the computer case: Once the card and antennas are installed, close your computer case and reconnect the power cord.

4.2 Driver Installation
After hardware installation, you need to install the necessary drivers for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality. The drivers are separate and both must be installed.
- Download Drivers: If your computer does not have an optical drive for the included CD, or for the latest drivers, please download them from the official FENVI website: https://www.fenvi.com/drive.html?keyword=FV-AC1200.
- Install Wi-Fi Driver: Run the Wi-Fi driver setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Install Bluetooth Driver: Run the Bluetooth driver setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: This adapter is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11. Linux drivers are not officially provided by Fenvi at this time. It is not compatible with IBM/Lenovo/HP version desktops.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Wi-Fi Connectivity
Once the Wi-Fi driver is successfully installed, your computer should detect available wireless networks. You can connect to a Wi-Fi network by:
- Clicking on the Wi-Fi icon in your system tray (usually bottom-right corner of the screen).
- Selecting your desired network from the list.
- Entering the network password if prompted.
The FV-AC1200 supports dual-band operation, allowing you to connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks. The 5GHz band generally offers higher speeds and less interference, while the 2.4GHz band provides a wider range.

5.2 Bluetooth Connectivity
With the Bluetooth driver installed and the USB cable connected, your computer's Bluetooth functionality will be enabled. To connect Bluetooth devices:
- Ensure the Bluetooth device you wish to connect is in pairing mode.
- Go to your computer's Bluetooth settings (e.g., Windows Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices).
- Click "Add Bluetooth or other device" and select "Bluetooth".
- Choose your device from the list and follow any on-screen prompts to complete pairing.

6. Maintenance
- Keep Antennas Secure: Ensure the external antennas are always securely attached to the adapter card for optimal signal reception.
- Driver Updates: Periodically check the FENVI official website for updated drivers to ensure the best performance and compatibility.
- Cleanliness: Keep your computer's interior clean to prevent dust buildup on the adapter, which can affect performance and longevity.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Bluetooth Not Working
- Check USB Cable Connection: Ensure the 9-pin USB cable is correctly connected from the adapter card to a 9-pin USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. This cable is crucial for Bluetooth functionality.
- Install Bluetooth Driver: Verify that the Bluetooth driver has been installed. If not, install it from the provided CD or the FENVI website.
7.2 Wi-Fi Not Working
- Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager on your computer. If you see a network controller with a yellow exclamation mark, it indicates a driver issue. Install or manually update the Wi-Fi driver. Even if the driver is installed, a yellow warning might appear; right-click, select 'Update driver', and manually point to the driver file path.
- M.2 Hard Disk Conflict: Check if there is an M.2 hard disk on your motherboard that might be causing a hardware function conflict with the PCI-E slot. If so, the M.2 hardware in the parallel channel may need to be unplugged.
- Antenna Connection: Ensure both antennas are securely connected to the adapter card.
- Disable Built-in Wi-Fi: If your desktop computer has a built-in Wi-Fi function, disable it in your computer's settings or Device Manager when using the FENVI FV-AC1200.
7.3 Compatibility Issues
- AMD Chipsets: This adapter is NOT compatible with AMD chipset motherboards.
- Specific Desktop Brands: This adapter is not suitable for IBM/Lenovo/HP version desktops.
- Linux Support: Currently, official drivers are only provided for Windows 7/8/10/11. Linux support is not available.
8. User Tips
- Separate Drivers: Remember that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth require separate driver installations. Ensure both are installed for full functionality.
- Physical Connections: Always double-check all physical connections, especially the Bluetooth USB cable and antenna tightness, if you encounter connectivity issues.
- Driver Source: For the most up-to-date and compatible drivers, always refer to the official FENVI website.
