Setup Instructions

1. Powering the Keyboard

The keyboard uses dual AAA batteries for wireless operation. Ensure fresh batteries are installed in the compartment located on the underside of the keyboard. The USB-C port can be used for wired connection and to power the keyboard.

2. Selecting Connection Mode

On the side of the keyboard, you will find physical switches to select your desired operating system and connection mode:

3. Connecting Your Keyboard

Wired Connection (USB-C)

  1. Ensure the connection mode switch is set to OFF.
  2. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable (USB-A) to an available USB port on your computer.
  4. The keyboard will be automatically recognized and ready for use.

2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4G wireless receiver in its storage compartment on the underside of the keyboard.
  2. Plug the 2.4G receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Set the connection mode switch on the keyboard to "2.4G".
  4. The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press and hold the Fn key + P key for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Set the connection mode switch on the keyboard to "BT".
  2. On your computer or device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Press and hold the Fn key + Q, W, or E key for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode for Bluetooth device 1, 2, or 3 respectively. The indicator light will flash rapidly.
  4. Select "IROK ZN 87" (or similar name) from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your computer/device.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid.
  6. To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E briefly.

Operating Instructions

Function Key Combinations (Fn Key)

The Fn key (located near the right Alt key) allows access to secondary functions printed on the keycaps. Hold down the Fn key and press the desired function key.

RGB Backlighting Control

The IROK ZN 87 features 16.8 million colors RGB phantom lighting with various effects. Use the Fn key in combination with specific keys (often Ins, Home, PgUp, PgDn, End, Del) to cycle through lighting modes, adjust brightness, change speed, and select colors. Refer to the keycap legends for specific lighting control functions.

Hot-Swappable Switches

The keyboard supports hot-swappable mechanical switches, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove existing switches and insert new compatible 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switches.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Keyboard

Battery Replacement

If using disposable AAA batteries for wireless modes, replace them when the keyboard's performance degrades or the low battery indicator (if present) activates. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.

Troubleshooting
