6. Setup

6.1. Physical Installation

The Smart AC Controller can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall.

6.1.1. Tabletop Placement

Simply extend the stand on the back of the device and place it on a flat surface. Connect the USB Type-C power cable to the device and a DC 5V/1A power adapter (not included).

6.1.2. Wall Mounting

1. Prepare Power: Ensure a DC 5V/1A power source is available near the desired mounting location.
2. Mounting Plate: Detach the back mounting plate from the device.
3. Fix Plate: Secure the mounting plate to the wall using screws (not included). Ensure the plate is level.
4. Cable Routing: Pass the USB Type-C power cable through the wall round hole in the mounting plate.
5. Attach Device: Carefully slide the Smart AC Controller onto the mounted plate until it clicks securely into place.

6.2. App Download and Registration

1. Download App: Search for "Smart Life" in your mobile device's App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the application.
2. Register & Login: Launch the "Smart Life" app. If you are a new user, register an account using your mobile phone number or email address and create a password. If you already have an account, simply log in.

6.3. Device Pairing

The device supports Wi-Fi, AP, and Bluetooth pairing modes. Ensure your router supports a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, please select the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (SSID) name during setup.

6.3.1. Wi-Fi Mode (Default)

1. Power on the Smart AC Controller.
2. If the LED indicator is off, press and hold the MODE button for 6 seconds until the indicator light blinks quickly (2 times/second).
3. In the Smart Life app, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
4. Select "Smart AC Controller" from the list or search for it.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

6.3.2. AP Compatible Mode

1. Power on the Smart AC Controller.
2. If the LED indicator is off, press and hold the MODE button for 6 seconds until the indicator light blinks slowly (2 seconds/time).
3. In the Smart Life app, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
4. Select "Smart AC Controller" and choose AP Mode for pairing.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect.

6.3.3. Bluetooth Mode (Automatic Pairing)

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone.
2. Power on the Smart AC Controller.
3. Launch the Smart Life app. The "Devices to be added" window should automatically pop up.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the device.

6.3.4. Bluetooth Network (Manual Pairing)

If automatic pairing does not occur, you can manually add the device:

1. In the Smart Life app, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
2. Select "Add Manually" and choose the Bluetooth option.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Basic Device Controls

Use the physical buttons on the device for direct control:

• Power Button (1): Short press to switch the device on/off.
• MODE Button (3): Short press to cycle through air conditioner modes (Cold, Heat, Auto, Fan, Dry). Long press for 10 seconds to reset the device for pairing.
• Fan Speed Button (4): Short press to adjust fan speed (Auto, Low, Medium, High). Long press to activate/deactivate Child Lock.
• Temperature UP (5) / DOWN (6) Buttons: Press to adjust the target temperature.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.

The app can provide reminders for air filter cleaning based on your air conditioner's usage time. Regularly clean or replace your air conditioner's filter as recommended by its manufacturer to ensure optimal performance and air quality.

9. Troubleshooting

• Device not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi. Check if the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough. Try resetting the device by long-pressing the MODE button for 10 seconds and re-pairing.
• Air conditioner not responding: Ensure the learning mode for your specific air conditioner brand and model has been successfully completed in the Smart Life app. The device uses an infrared code library to control ACs.
• Temperature not going below 18°C: Some air conditioners or regions may have minimum temperature settings. Check your air conditioner's manual and the app's temperature range settings.
• LED indicator is off: Press and hold the reset button (MODE button) for 6 seconds to activate the indicator light for pairing.
• App not receiving notifications: Check the "Push Notification Setting" in the app. If it is disabled, notifications will not be received.
