The AULA F3050 is a high-performance gaming mechanical keyboard designed for versatility and customization. It features dual-mode connectivity (2.4G wireless and Type-C wired), full key hot-swappable switches, vibrant RGB backlight effects, and a durable metal panel with an ergonomic design.

2. Setup Guide

2.1 Package Contents

Please ensure all items are present:

  • AULA F3050 Mechanical Keyboard
  • Type-C USB Cable
  • 2.4G Wireless Receiver
  • Keycap Puller (may be included)
  • Switch Puller (may be included)
  • 10 Orange PBT Sublimation Keycaps (gift)
  • User Manual (this document)

2.2 Connecting the Keyboard

The AULA F3050 supports two connection methods: 2.4G Wireless and Type-C Wired.

2.2.1 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4G wireless receiver. It is typically stored magnetically within the keyboard chassis for convenience.
  2. Plug the 2.4G receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on the keyboard using the power switch (usually located on the back or side of the keyboard).
  4. The keyboard should automatically connect. If not, press the designated wireless mode key (refer to keyboard layout for specific key, often FN + a number key or a dedicated switch) to activate 2.4G mode.

2.2.2 Type-C Wired Connection

  1. Connect one end of the provided Type-C USB cable to the keyboard's Type-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode and begin charging if the battery is low.

2.3 Ergonomic Adjustment

The keyboard features adjustable foot supports to achieve an ergonomic 6° angle, providing a more comfortable typing experience.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Multi-function Metal Knob

The metal roller knob provides easy control over various functions depending on the active mode.

To switch between modes, short press the mode key (often labeled M1, M2, M3 or a dedicated mode button near the knob).

  • Game Mode (Mode indicator light breathing):
    • Twist knob upwards: Brightness of the light increases.
    • Twist knob downwards: Brightness of the light decreases.
    • Short press mode key: Cycle through 8 lighting modes (Flowing light, Raindrops, Instant firing, Snake shaped running horse, Colorful highlights, No trace on snow, Breathing, Shadow following).
  • Office Mode (Mode indicator light always on):
    • Short press mode key: Mute audio.
    • Twist knob upwards: Volume increases.
    • Twist knob downwards: Volume decreases.
  • Picture Viewing Mode (Mode indicator light off):
    • Twist knob upwards: Enlarge image (similar to scrolling up with mouse).
    • Twist knob downwards: Reduce image size (similar to scrolling down with mouse).

3.2 Special Function Keys

  • M1 Key: Open homepage.
  • M2 Key: Open email.
  • M3 Key: Switch window.
  • Short press mode key: Display desktop.
  • FN + ESC: Restore factory default lighting mode and default functions.

3.3 Backlight Effects

The keyboard features a cool ice blue backlight with 8 switchable lighting effects. Cycle through these effects using the mode key in Game Mode.

The available lighting modes are: Flowing light, Raindrops, Instant firing, Snake shaped running horse, Colorful highlights, No trace on snow, Breathing, and Shadow following.

4. Maintenance

4.1 General Cleaning

  • Disconnect the keyboard from your computer before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a small amount of water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe down the keycaps and metal panel.
  • For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air or a small brush.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the keyboard's finish or keycap legends.

4.2 Keycap Replacement

The keyboard comes with 10 orange PBT sublimation keycaps as a gift, which can be replaced by yourself.

  1. Use the provided keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycaps. Hook the puller onto the keycap and pull straight up.
  2. Align the new keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place.

The PBT keycaps are made with a five-sided sublimation process, making them resistant to oil, wear, and fading.

4.3 Switch Replacement (Hot-Swappable)

The AULA F3050 supports full key hot-swapping, allowing you to replace switches without soldering.

  1. First, remove the keycap using the keycap puller.
  2. Use the switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch.
  3. Gently pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB socket.
  4. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes in the hot-swap socket. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
  5. Press the new switch firmly into the socket until it clicks into place.

The keyboard supports various switch types, including Green, Tea, and Red axis, each offering a distinct typing experience.

  • Green Axis: Audible paragraph axis, clear and crisp sound, strong mechanical sensation. Suitable for gaming and office. Trigger stroke: 2.4mm, Pressure: 60g, Lifespan: ~50 million times.
  • Tea Axis: Micro voice paragraph axis, micro paragraph reinforcement feedback. Low knocking sound, more paragraph-like texture, stable service life. Suitable for professional gamers. Trigger stroke: 2.0mm, Pressure: 60g, Lifespan: ~50 million times.
  • Red Axis: Linear axis, lower sound, easier to tap. Suitable for gaming and office. Trigger stroke: 2.0mm, Pressure: 60g, Lifespan: ~50 million times.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
    • For wireless mode, check if the 2.4G receiver is properly plugged in and the keyboard is in 2.4G mode.
    • For wired mode, ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port.
    • Check battery level. Connect the keyboard via Type-C cable to charge.
  • Backlight not working or incorrect:
    • Ensure the keyboard is in Game Mode to adjust brightness and cycle effects.
    • Twist the metal knob to adjust brightness.
    • Short press the mode key to cycle through lighting effects.
    • Perform a factory reset (FN + ESC) to restore default lighting settings.
  • Keys not registering or double-typing:
    • This could indicate a faulty switch. Utilize the hot-swappable feature to replace the problematic switch.
    • Ensure the switch is fully seated in its socket.
    • Clean around the keycap and switch to remove any debris.
  • Wireless connection unstable:
    • Move the keyboard closer to the 2.4G receiver.
    • Ensure there are no major obstructions or sources of interference (e.g., other wireless devices, large metal objects) between the keyboard and receiver.
    • Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port, preferably a USB 2.0 port if available.

  • Connectivity: For competitive gaming or situations requiring the lowest latency, the Type-C wired connection is recommended. For general use and convenience, the 2.4G wireless mode offers excellent performance.
  • Knob Versatility: Familiarize yourself with the different modes of the metal knob (Game, Office, Picture Viewing) to quickly adjust brightness, volume, or zoom without interrupting your workflow.
