4. Setup and Installation
The Hobbywing Combo Pump is designed for convenient installation, featuring a detachable waterproof wire harness.
4.1. Mounting the Pump
- Identify a suitable mounting location on your UAV drone that provides stable support and allows for proper water line routing.
- Use appropriate fasteners to secure the pump via its mounting holes. Refer to Figure 3 for the bottom view showing mounting points.

4.2. Water Line Connections
- Connect the water inlet hose to the 10.5mm inlet port and the water outlet hose to the 6.5mm outlet port. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- The pump is compatible with various fittings, including brass push-to-connect fittings, as shown in some product images.
4.3. Electrical Connections
The pump features a detachable waterproof wire harness for easy installation and replacement.
- Power Connection: The pump requires a 12-14S (DC44-60.9V) power supply. Connect the main power wires (typically red for positive, black for negative) to your drone's power distribution system or battery.
- Signal Connection: The pump is controlled via a PWM signal. Connect the signal wire (often white or brown) to the appropriate PWM output on your flight controller. The fixed PWM throttle stroke is 110-1940US.
- Ensure the 4-pin waterproof connector (Figure 4) and the 3-wire signal/power connector (Figure 5) are securely attached and properly oriented.



5. Operation
- Once installed and connected, the pump's operation is typically controlled by the drone's flight controller or a dedicated spraying system.
- The pump responds to a PWM signal within the range of 110-1940US to control its flow rate.
- Ensure the water tank is filled with the desired liquid before activating the pump.
- Monitor the working pressure (0.5Mpa for 8L/min model, 0.35Mpa for 5L/min model) and flow rate (8L/min or 5L/min) to ensure optimal spraying performance.
6. Maintenance
The Hobbywing Combo Pump is designed for ultra-long life and low maintenance, with a service life exceeding 500 hours.
- Cleaning: Due to its IP67 protection level, the water pump can be directly washed to keep it clean and reduce pesticide corrosion. Ensure electrical connectors are dry before reconnecting power.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect water inlet and outlet diameters (10.5mm and 6.5mm respectively) for any blockages or damage.
- Wiring: Periodically check the wire harness for any signs of wear or damage. The detachable design allows for easy replacement if needed.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, drain any remaining liquid from the pump and store it in a clean, dry environment.


7. Troubleshooting
- Pump not activating: Check power connections and ensure the operating voltage is within the specified 12-14S range. Verify the PWM signal from the flight controller is being sent correctly.
- Low flow or no flow: Inspect water inlet and outlet hoses for kinks, blockages, or leaks. Ensure the water tank is not empty. Check for any debris in the pump's intake.
