Initial Setup

1. Charging the Battery

The Tecsun M-303 has a built-in polymer lithium battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.

  • Connect the supplied USB Micro Type B charging cable to the USB port on the device.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power adapter (DC 5V, current ≥ 500mA, purchased separately) or a computer USB port.
  • The display will indicate charging status.

2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button (usually located on the side or top) to turn the device on or off. The multifunctional display screen will activate upon power-on.

3. Inserting a TF Card (Optional)

To use the music player or extend recording storage, insert a TF (microSD) memory card (up to 128GB) into the designated slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly with the contacts facing down.

FM Radio Operation

The M-303 supports an FM receiving range of 64-108MHz, configurable for different regions (e.g., 76-108MHz for Japan, 87-108MHz for China/Europe, 88-108MHz for Europe/Australia).

  • Tuning: Use the tuning buttons (often labeled with arrows) to scan for stations.
  • Automatic Tuning Storage (ATS): The device supports ATS for automatically scanning and saving available FM stations. Refer to the on-screen prompts or specific button combinations for this feature.
  • Favorite Programs: Use the shortcut keys to quickly access your favorite saved radio programs.

Bluetooth Receiver

The M-303 features Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming and hands-free calls.

  • Pairing: Activate Bluetooth mode on the M-303. On your mobile phone or other Bluetooth device, search for "M-303" and pair.
  • Hands-free Calls: Once paired with a mobile phone, the device can be used for hands-free communication.
  • Computer Speaker: Connect the M-303 to your computer via Bluetooth or USB to use it as an external speaker.

Music Player

Play your digital music files directly from a TF card.

  • Supported Formats: The M-303 can play 16-bit/44.1k FLAC, WAV, WMA, APE, and MP3 format music files.
  • Playback: Navigate through your music files using the control buttons. The device supports breakpoint playback, resuming from where you left off.

  • Recording Methods:
    1. Broadcast Recording: Record directly from the FM radio.
    2. Bluetooth Audio Recording: Record audio received via Bluetooth (Stereo MP3 format).
    3. Microphone Recording: Use the built-in microphone for daily recordings such as meetings, interviews, or language learning (Mono WAV format).
  • Storage: Recordings are saved to the inserted TF memory card (supports up to 128GB).

Timing and Sleep Functions

  • Timing Automatic Power-on: Set a specific time for the device to automatically power on.
  • Humanized Sleep Shutdown: Configure the device to automatically shut down after 1-120 minutes of inactivity. This function can also be canceled if not desired.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
