4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your electric scooter. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified technician if you are unfamiliar with electric vehicle wiring.
4.1 Controller Wiring
The EM50S controller features various connections for different functions. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram below for proper connections.

Default Functions: Hall Plug, Reverse, Low Brake 0V, Throttle (0-5V), High Brake 12V, Ignition, One-line/Hall Meter Wire, Program Port, Three Speed, Sport Model, Parking, Anti-Theft, Regen Charge, Flux Weaken Current.
4.2 Throttle Assembly Wiring
The throttle assembly includes both left and right handles with integrated switches. Connect them according to the following pin definitions and diagrams.

4.3 N1S Display Wiring
Connect the N1S display to the controller using the ONE-LIN sensor wire. Ensure correct polarity and function connections.
- Red: Positive 48V-96V +
- Black/Green: Negative GND -
- Purple: ONE-LIN Speed Sensor
- Dark Blue: Head Light
- Orange: Left Light
- Light Blue: Right Light
- Black Plug 1: KMH/MPH Switching
- Black Plug 2: Voltage Switching (Default 72V/60V/48V switching; other voltages can be specified during order)

5. Operating Instructions
Once the controller, display, and throttle are correctly installed and connected, you can begin operating your electric scooter.
5.1 N1S Display Operation
The N1S display provides real-time information about your scooter's status:
- Speed: Shows current speed in KMH or MPH (up to 188kmh).
- Voltage: Displays the current battery voltage.
- Battery Level: Indicates remaining battery charge.
- Trip Distance: Shows the distance traveled for the current trip.
- Head Lighting: Indicator for headlights.
- Gear: Displays the current gear selection.
- Fault Display: Alerts for system errors.
- Turning Lighting: Indicators for left and right turn signals.
Use the black plugs for switching between KMH/MPH and adjusting voltage settings if needed.

5.2 Throttle and Control Switches
The throttle controls acceleration, while the integrated switches manage various scooter functions:
- Throttle: Rotate to accelerate.
- 3-Speed Transmission: Select different speed modes.
- Headlights/Fog Lights: Turn on/off lighting.
- Turn Signals: Activate left or right turn indicators.
- Horn: Sound the horn.
- Repair Button: For diagnostic or specific functions (refer to controller programming for details).
- Reverse Button: Engages reverse gear.
- Parking (P file): Activates parking brake or mode.

- Verify that the ONE-LIN Speed Sensor wire (Purple) is correctly connected.
- Motor Not Responding / Erratic Behavior:
- Inspect all Hall Plug connections and motor phase wires.
- Check the throttle (0-5V) connection.
- Ensure the controller's program port is not actively being used for debugging unless intended.
- General Malfunction:
- Verify battery voltage is within the 48V-72V range.
- Check for any fault codes displayed on the N1S screen.
- Ensure the communication protocols between the controller and display are compatible. Mismatched protocols can prevent proper operation.
