6. Maintenance

The VOTOL EM50S controller and N1S display are designed for durability and are rated IP67 waterproof. Regular maintenance should focus on ensuring all electrical connections remain secure and free from corrosion. Periodically inspect wiring for any signs of wear or damage. Keep the display clean and free from dirt or debris to ensure readability.

For advanced maintenance or repairs, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician or the manufacturer.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your controller kit, consider the following:

  • Display Not Working / Incorrect Readings:
    • Check all wiring connections to the N1S display for looseness or damage.
    • Ensure the correct voltage setting is selected via Black Plug 2 on the display.
    • Verify that the ONE-LIN Speed Sensor wire (Purple) is correctly connected.
  • Motor Not Responding / Erratic Behavior:
    • Inspect all Hall Plug connections and motor phase wires.
    • Check the throttle (0-5V) connection.
    • Ensure the controller's program port is not actively being used for debugging unless intended.
  • General Malfunction:
    • Verify battery voltage is within the 48V-72V range.
    • Check for any fault codes displayed on the N1S screen.
    • Ensure the communication protocols between the controller and display are compatible. Mismatched protocols can prevent proper operation.

8. User Tips

  • Compatibility Check: Before purchasing or installing, always verify that the controller and display's communication protocols are compatible with your existing components. Most controllers and displays require matching protocols to function correctly. If unsure, consult with the seller or a specialist.
  • Professional Installation: If you lack experience with electric kits or conversions, consider professional installation to avoid potential damage or improper setup.
  • Programming: The EM50S controller supports PC programming. Utilize this feature for fine-tuning performance or customizing functions if you have the necessary software and expertise.
