7. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

  • Fail to turn it on:
Check if the battery is charged.
  • No SIM signal:
    • Check if the SIM card is installed correctly.
    • Check if the SIM card supports GSM or LTE network.
    • Make sure the SIM card's PIN code is deactivated.
    • Make sure call forwarding is not active on the SIM card.
  • No GPS signal:
For optimal GPS signal reception, place the device in an open area with a clear view of the sky.
  • No reply to SMS command:
    • Verify the SMS command format is correct.
    • Ensure the SIM card has sufficient balance for SMS and data.
    • Confirm the SIM card supports making calls, sending messages, and GPRS network, and that call display is open and call forwarding is off.
  • SMS position OK, but cannot use the APP and web platform:
Check if the APN settings are correctly configured. Refer to section 5.3 for APN setting instructions.
  • Platform position differs from actual position:
    • If there's no uploading position time or GPS signal, call the device's phone number to receive a position message.
    • If the reply shows LBS tracking (like Pic 2 in the manual), it means there's no GPS signal, and the position is the last known GPS location.
    • If the reply shows GPS tracking (like Pic 1 in the manual), it means the device hasn't reached its next scheduled upload time.

8. User Tips

  • The accompanying mobile application for tracking is free to use for a lifetime, with no subscription fees.
  • Remember that the device requires a functional SIM card with an active plan for data and SMS to operate correctly.
  • When purchasing, note that there are 2G and 4G versions available, with the 4G version typically being more expensive due to enhanced network capabilities.
