Note: This router is a Chinese version. Please download the Mi Home App and set the country and region to Chinese Mainland for proper functionality.

Important: The product will receive a firmware upgrade related to the WiFi 7 protocol by December 30, 2023. You can check the upgrade log and manually update it in the Router Management plugin of the Mi Home app, or toggle the 'Auto Update' switch in the upper right corner of the Upgrade Assistant page to accept automatic updates.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1. Initial Connection

1. Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into a power outlet.
2. Connect Network Cable: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to any WAN/LAN port on the router and the other end to your wall's internet port or your modem/ONT's LAN port. If you don't have a modem/ONT, connect the incoming network cable directly to any port on the router.
3. Wait for Indicators: Wait for the router to power on and the indicator lights to stabilize. The SYSTEM indicator should turn white, and the INTERNET indicator should turn white (after an initial orange state).

4.2. Internet Setup (via Mi Home App)

For the best experience, it is recommended to use the Mi Home App to manage your router. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to the router's Wi-Fi (initially without a password).

1. Download Mi Home App: If you haven't already, download and install the Mi Home App on your smartphone.
2. Connect to Router's Wi-Fi: On your phone, search for the Wi-Fi network transmitted by the router (the default Wi-Fi name can be found on the label at the bottom of the router). Connect to this network (it will initially have no password).
3. Open Mi Home App: Open the Mi Home App and log in with your Xiaomi account.
4. Automatic Setup: The app should automatically detect the new router and guide you through the setup process. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure your internet connection and set a Wi-Fi password. You may be prompted to set the Wi-Fi password as the management password.
5. Restart and Reconnect: After completing the settings, the Wi-Fi will automatically restart. Reconnect to the newly configured Wi-Fi network.

Note on Plug Adapters: The correct plug adapter or conversion plug for your country will be provided. Refer to the image below for common adapter types.

Mesh Networking Methods:

1. Method 1 (Recommended - Mi Home App):
   • Add and bind the main router using the Mi Home App.
   • Navigate to the router management interface within the app.
   • Select "Mesh Network Devices" and follow the prompts to add Mesh sub-routers.
2. Method 2 (Wireless Mesh Networking):
   • Ensure the main router is configured and both SYSTEM and INTERNET indicators are solid white.
   • Place the sub-router (compatible with BE7000 Mesh) near the main router (at least 1 meter apart to avoid interference).
   • Connect the sub-router to power and wait 2-3 minutes until its SYSTEM indicator turns orange/blue.
   • The main router should automatically detect the sub-router, and its INTERNET indicator will slow flash (once per second).
   • Short press the MESH button on the main router. Both routers' network indicators (INTERNET) will start fast flashing (twice per second) to enter the networking state and begin wireless Mesh networking.
3. Method 3 (Wired Mesh Networking):
   • Use an Ethernet cable to connect a LAN port of the main router (or any port if no dedicated LAN) to the WAN port of the sub-router (or any port if no dedicated WAN).
   • Both routers' network indicators (INTERNET) will start fast flashing (twice per second) to enter the networking state and perform wired Mesh networking.

   • Release the RESET button when the SYSTEM indicator turns orange.
