8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Device not pairing with appEnsure the device is in fast-flashing pairing mode. Check your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Verify Wi-Fi password. Move device closer to router.
Device offline in appCheck Wi-Fi connection. Ensure the device has power. Restart the device and router.
Device trips frequentlyCheck alarm settings (overcurrent, over/under voltage, leakage, temperature). Adjust thresholds if necessary, or investigate the connected load for faults.
Display shows '0.0' or no dataVerify correct wiring and power supply. Ensure a load is connected and drawing power.
Cannot reset factory settingsRefer to the app's device settings for a 'Reset' option or consult the manufacturer's support for specific button sequences if not available in the app.
Blinking malfunction indicatorA blinking indicator usually signifies an alarm condition (e.g., overcurrent, overvoltage, leakage). Check the device's display or the app's alarm records for details on the specific malfunction. Address the underlying issue or adjust protection settings if appropriate.
Unable to limit output to gridThis device measures bi-directional energy but does not inherently limit output to the grid. Any grid export limitations would typically be managed by your solar inverter or utility grid connection equipment, not directly by this meter.

9. User Tips

  • Regular Monitoring: Utilize the app's real-time monitoring and historical data features to track your energy consumption and generation patterns. This can help identify energy-saving opportunities.
  • Optimize Protection Settings: Customize the over/under voltage, overcurrent, and leakage protection thresholds to match your specific electrical setup and connected appliances for optimal safety and performance.
  • Leverage Timing Schedules: Use the timing control features to automate the switching of appliances, reducing manual effort and potentially saving energy during off-peak hours.
  • Prepaid Mode Management: If using the prepaid mode, regularly check your balance energy in the app to avoid unexpected power cuts.
  • Stay Updated: Keep the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app and the device firmware updated to benefit from the latest features and security enhancements.
