2. Safety Information
- Always ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any electrical work.

- This module is designed for indoor use only.
- Do not exceed the maximum load of 300W for the curtain switch module.
- The module is compatible with electric shutter motors that have 4 wires (Live Wire 1, Live Wire 2, Neutral Wire, Earth Wire) and operate on 100-250 VAC.
- Important: This module cannot work with DC motors.
- The Live Wire 1, Live Wire 2 (for open and close), and Neutral Wire are essential for installation.

5. Setup
5.1 Pre-installation Notes
- A Tuya ZigBee Hub is required for the module to function. Ensure you have one and it is from Tuya, as this switch may not work with other brands' ZigBee Hubs.
- Verify your curtain motor is a 4-wire AC motor (Live 1, Live 2, Neutral, Earth) and not a DC motor.
- Turn off the main power supply before starting any wiring.
5.2 Wiring Diagrams
Choose the appropriate wiring diagram based on whether you intend to use a manual wall switch in conjunction with the module.
5.2.1 Wiring with a Manual Wall Switch
This diagram shows how to connect the module to a standard 4-wire AC motor and integrate it with an existing manual wall switch. The module does not have a terminal for the earth wire, so there is no need to connect the earth wire of the motor to the module.
Connections:

5.2.2 Wiring Without a Manual Wall Switch
If you do not plan to use a physical manual switch, follow this wiring diagram to connect the module directly to your 4-wire AC motor.
Connections:
Output N - Neutral Wire of Motor

Input L - Live Wire
Output L1 - Brown Wire of Motor
Output L2 - Black Wire of Motor
5.3 Physical Installation
- After wiring, carefully place the module into the junction box. Its compact size (48mm x 47mm x 22mm) is designed to fit most standard junction boxes.
- If the screw holder on the module obstructs installation, you may carefully remove it with a pair of pliers.
5.4 Pairing with Tuya ZigBee Hub
Once the module is wired and powered on, you will need to pair it with your Tuya ZigBee Hub using the Smart Life or Tuya App. Refer to your Tuya ZigBee Hub's instructions for specific pairing mode activation. The module features a 'Pairing Button' (visible on the main product image, Figure 6) which is typically used to initiate pairing mode.
The module will then become part of your Tuya ZigBee Mesh Network, allowing it to communicate with other ZigBee devices and your smart home ecosystem.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 App Control
Use the Smart Life or Tuya App on your mobile device to control your curtain blinds from anywhere. You can open, close, or set the curtains to a specific percentage of openness.
- Remote Control: Open or close your curtains remotely, even when you are away from home.
- Percentage Control: Adjust the curtain position to any desired percentage (e.g., 50% open).
- Device Sharing: Create groups within the app to manage multiple blinds and share control with family members.
6.2 Voice Control
The module is compatible with popular voice assistants, allowing for hands-free operation of your curtains.
- Amazon Alexa: Link your Smart Life/Tuya account to Alexa and use commands like "Alexa, open the curtain switch."
- Google Assistant: Link your Smart Life/Tuya account to Google Home and use commands like "Hey Google, close the blinds."
6.3 Timer and Schedule
Automate your curtains to open or close at specific times or based on environmental conditions.
- Scheduled Timers: Set daily or weekly schedules for your curtains to open or close automatically.
- Sunrise/Sunset Automation: Configure the app to automatically adjust your curtains based on local sunrise and sunset times.
6.4 Wall Switch Control
If you have connected the module with a manual wall switch, the physical switch will continue to function normally, allowing you to open or close the curtains manually.
7. Maintenance
The LoraTap SCAE500ZB module requires minimal maintenance.
- Keep the module and surrounding area clean and free from dust.
- Do not expose the module to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the device.
8. Troubleshooting
- Module not responding: Ensure the power supply is on and the module is correctly wired. Check the ZigBee Hub connection and ensure the module is within range.
- Cannot pair with app: Verify that you are using a Tuya ZigBee Hub. This module is not compatible with other brands' ZigBee Hubs. Ensure the module is in pairing mode (refer to your hub's instructions for initiating pairing).
- Curtains not moving: Double-check all wiring connections, especially the Live 1, Live 2, and Neutral wires to the motor. Confirm your motor is an AC 4-wire type and not a DC motor.
- Voice control not working: Ensure your Smart Life/Tuya account is correctly linked to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Check your internet connection and the voice assistant device's status.
- Module does not fit in junction box: If necessary, remove the screw holder on the module using pliers to facilitate fitting.
