7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your CY3001 device, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | Loose OBDII connection; Vehicle ignition not on; Vehicle not OBDII compliant. | Ensure the OBDII cable is securely connected. Turn vehicle ignition to ON. Verify vehicle is OBDII compliant (most vehicles 1996 and newer). |
| "Link Error" message. | Communication failure with vehicle; Incorrect protocol. | Check OBDII connection. Ensure vehicle ignition is ON. Try on a different OBDII compliant vehicle if possible. |
| Cannot clear codes. | Engine is running; Fault is still present. | Ensure the engine is off but ignition is on. Address the underlying fault before attempting to clear codes. |
| Bluetooth connection issues. | Device not in pairing mode; Interference; Incompatible app. | Ensure Bluetooth mode is active on the CY3001. Move closer to the device. Use a compatible OBDII app. |
