5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Choosing the Correct Model
It is crucial to select the correct thermostat model for your heating system:
- HY09-GBWRW: Designed for Electric Underfloor Heating systems.
- HY09-GCWRW: Designed for Water Underfloor Heating systems or Gas Boilers.
Ensure you have the correct model before proceeding with installation.
5.2 Receiver Installation and Wiring
The receiver unit connects directly to your heating system. Professional installation is recommended for wiring to ensure safety and proper functionality. Refer to the wiring diagrams below for your specific heating type.

- Electric Heating: Connect the Load to ACL and OUT terminals. Power supply (AC230V 50/60Hz) to L and N. Max current: 16A. NTC sensor is optional.
- Boiler Heating: Connect the Boiler to NO and COM terminals. Power supply (AC230V 50/60Hz) to L and N. Max current: 3A.
- Water Heating: Connect the motor (M) to NO and COM terminals. Power supply (AC230V 50/60Hz) to L and N. Max current: 3A. NTC sensor is optional.
5.3 Controller Powering and Mounting
The thermostat controller can be powered in two ways:
- USB Power Supply: Connect the provided USB cable to the controller and a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
- Batteries: Insert 4*AAA batteries into the controller.
Important: If using USB power, please remove the AAA batteries from the controller.

The controller is designed to be wall-mounted. Use the provided screws to secure it to a wall at a suitable height. Alternatively, you can use the two included brackets to place the controller on a table or flat surface.

6.1 Basic Operation and Manual Control
The thermostat controller features an LCD digital display for easy reading of current temperature, set temperature, time, and operating mode. Use the physical buttons on the controller to adjust settings manually.

The thermostat supports flexible weekly programming to suit your lifestyle. You can set up to 6 time periods per day for different temperature settings. Choose from:
- 5+2 Day Programming: Separate schedules for weekdays and weekends.
- 6+1 Day Programming: Separate schedules for Monday-Saturday and Sunday.
- 7 Day Programming: Individual schedules for each day of the week.
The thermostat retains programmed settings even after a power outage.
