6. Setup and Operation

Follow these steps to safely set up and operate your FOXSUR Smart Battery Charger:

6.1. General Charging Steps

  1. Verify Battery: Check the voltage and chemistry of the battery you intend to charge.
  2. Connect AC Power: Ensure the AC power plug is securely connected to a household 220V (or 100-240V compatible) electrical outlet.
  3. Select Mode: Press the 'MODE' button to toggle and select the appropriate charge mode for your battery type (e.g., CAR, AGM/LiFePO4, MOTO, REPAIR).
  4. Connect to Battery: Properly connect the red clamp to the positive (+) pole of the battery and the black clip to the negative (-) electrode of the battery. Ensure connections are secure and spark-free.
  5. Start Charging: The mode LED will illuminate for the selected charge mode, and the Charge Icon will light up (depending on the battery's health), indicating that the charging process has started.
  6. Maintenance Charging: The charger can be left connected to the battery indefinitely to provide maintenance charging once fully charged.

6.2. 12V Battery Charging Setup

  3. Select the corresponding mode on the charger.
  4. Connect the red clamp to the positive pole of the series-connected batteries and the black clip to the negative electrode. Start charging.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your charger, refer to the LED display for error codes and follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Display shows ERO (Wrong Polarity): Disconnect the charger immediately. Check that the red clamp is connected to the positive (+) terminal and the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Reconnect correctly.
  • Display shows ERO (Defect Battery): If polarity is correct and the error persists, the battery may be defective. Have the battery checked by a qualified mechanic and replace it if necessary.
  • Display shows ERO (Bad Connection): Ensure all connections between the charger and the battery are secure and clean. Loose or corroded connections can prevent proper charging.
  • Display shows LOW (Low Voltage): This indicates the battery voltage is too low or the battery cannot hold a charge. The battery may be deeply discharged or damaged.
  • Charger Not Starting: Verify that the AC power cord is plugged into a live outlet, the correct charging mode is selected, and the battery clamps are properly attached to the battery terminals.
