1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Mellif Cordless Submersible Pump. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your pump. This pump is designed for transferring clean and dirty water from various sources such as garden ponds, pools, hot tubs, and flooded areas. It is compatible with Makita 18V batteries (Bl1830, Bl1840 series, battery not included).
Key Features:
- Brushless motor for efficient performance.
- Three adjustable flow modes.
- Water-resistant battery cover and low voltage protection.
- Automatic shutoff when no water is detected.
- Portable design with carrying handle.
2. Safety Instructions
Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before using this product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Always ensure the battery is securely installed in the waterproof battery box before submersion.
- Do not operate the pump without water. The automatic shutoff feature is a safeguard, but continuous dry running can damage the pump.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water during operation to prevent overheating.
- Do not use the pump for flammable or corrosive liquids.
- Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the operating area.
- Inspect the pump and cables for any damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.
- When installing the 90° elbow connection, do not overtighten it, as it can break. If the connection breaks, contact customer support.
3. Setup
Battery Installation
Open the waterproof battery cover. Insert a compatible Makita 18V battery (e.g., Bl1830, Bl1840) into the battery slot. Close the cover securely to ensure a watertight seal. The pump is not compatible with Makita G-series batteries.

4. Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Locate the power switch on the battery box. Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to start the pump. Flip to 'OFF' to stop.

Figure 4.1: Product details diagram highlighting the power switch (6) and flow settings (7). Adjusting Flow Rate
The pump features three adjustable flow modes: Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H). Use the control panel on the battery box to select the desired flow rate:
- L (Low): 2998 L/h
- M (Medium): 3997 L/h
- H (High): 4996 L/h

5. Maintenance
Cleaning the Filter
The pump has an integrated filter to remove impurities. Regularly inspect and clean the filter to ensure optimal performance and prevent clogging.
General Cleaning
After each use, especially when pumping dirty water, rinse the pump thoroughly with clean water. This helps prevent sediment buildup and extends the pump's lifespan.
Storage
When not in use, store the pump in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery before storing for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start | Battery not installed correctly or discharged Power switch is off | Ensure battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Close battery cover securely. Turn the power switch to 'ON'. |
| Pump stops during operation | No water detected (automatic shutoff) Low battery voltage Overcurrent protection activated | Check water level and ensure pump is fully submerged. Recharge or replace the battery. Check for blockages in the pump or hose. Ensure the pump is not overloaded. |
| Reduced water flow | Clogged filter or hose Incorrect flow mode selected | Clean the filter and check the hose for kinks or blockages. Select a higher flow mode (M or H) on the control panel. |
| Water leakage from connections | Loose hose connection Damaged elbow connector | Tighten hose connections. Do not overtighten the 90° elbow. If the elbow connector is broken, contact customer support for replacement. |

8. User Tips
- For optimal performance and to avoid damage, ensure the pump is always fully submerged when operating.
- Regularly check the battery charge level, especially during prolonged use, to prevent unexpected shutoffs.
- When connecting hoses, hand-tighten connections first, then use a wrench for a snug fit without excessive force, particularly on the 90° elbow.
- The pump's maximum head of 8 meters means it can effectively lift water to this height. Consider this when planning your water transfer tasks.
