4. Initial Setup and Connections

Before operating the ST-5150, ensure the battery is sufficiently charged using the provided power adapter. Connect the adapter to the DC IN port and a power outlet. The device can be used while charging.

4.1 Connecting to Satellite/Terrestrial/Cable Signals

  1. Satellite (DVB-S/S2): Connect your LNB cable from the satellite dish to the "DVB-S/S2" input port on the meter.
  2. Terrestrial/Cable (DVB-T/T2/C): Connect your antenna or cable TV signal to the "DVB-T/T2/C" input port on the meter.

4.2 Output Connections

  • HDMI Output: For high-definition video and audio, connect an HDMI cable from the meter's HDMI port to an HDMI input on your TV or monitor.
  • AV Output: Use the supplied AV cable to connect the meter's AV OUT port to the AV IN ports (Yellow for video, Red/White for audio) on your TV or monitor.
  • AV Input: The AV IN port allows you to connect external video sources to display on the meter's screen.

4.3 USB Port

The USB port can be used for software upgrades and multimedia playback from a USB storage device.

5. Operation

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the POWER button to turn the device on or off.

5.2 Menu Navigation

Use the arrow keys (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) to navigate through menus and options. Press OK to confirm a selection or enter a submenu. Press MENU to return to the previous menu or exit the current menu.

5.3 Satellite Signal Finding (DVB-S/S2)

  1. From the main menu, select DVB-S2.
  2. Choose your desired satellite from the list or add a new one.
  3. Adjust LNB settings (e.g., LNB type, 22KHz, DiSEqC) as required for your setup.
  4. Point your satellite dish towards the selected satellite. The meter will display signal strength and quality. Use the sound and light alarm for precise alignment.
  5. The meter can automatically calculate Azimuth and Elevation angles to assist with dish positioning.
  6. Once a strong signal is locked, you can proceed to scan for channels.

5.4 Terrestrial/Cable Signal Finding (DVB-T/T2/C)

  1. From the main menu, select DVB-T2 or DVB-C depending on your signal type.
  2. Select your region or manually enter frequency parameters.
  3. Adjust your terrestrial antenna or cable connection for optimal signal. The meter will display signal strength and quality.
  4. Once a strong signal is locked, you can proceed to scan for channels.

5.5 Channel Scanning

After locking onto a signal, navigate to the scan options. You can choose between Auto Scan to automatically find all available channels or Manual Scan for specific frequency ranges.

5.6 Multimedia Playback

Insert a USB drive with compatible media files (wma, mp3, mp4, avi, jpg, bmp, img) into the USB port. Select Multimedia from the main menu to browse and play files.

5.7 System Settings

Access System Settings to configure language, time, display options, and other device parameters.

7. Maintenance
