6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BQCC F9070 multimedia player, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. For stubborn smudges, a slightly damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used, but avoid spraying liquids directly onto the unit.
  • Temperature: Operate and store the unit within the specified working temperature range of -10~60℃. Extreme temperatures can affect performance and lifespan.
  • Avoid Liquids: Keep the unit away from water and other liquids to prevent electrical damage.
  • Dust and Debris: Regularly clean any dust or debris from the ports and vents to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Software Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available software updates to improve performance and add new features.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BQCC F9070, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Unit does not power on:
    • Check all power connections, ensuring they are securely fastened and correctly wired according to the installation diagrams (Figure 4.3, Figure 4.4).
    • Verify that your vehicle's fuse for the radio is intact.
    • Ensure the working voltage is within 12~14.4V.
  • Radio turns on and doesn't go off when the car is turned off:
    • This often indicates incorrect wiring of the constant power (B+) and accessory power (ACC) wires. The unit might be receiving constant power even when the ignition is off. Consult a professional installer or re-check your wiring against the vehicle's wiring diagram to ensure ACC is connected to a switched power source.
  • No sound:
    • Check speaker connections.
    • Ensure the volume is not muted or set to zero.
    • Verify audio output settings in the unit's menu.
  • Bluetooth connection issues:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the unit and your mobile device.
    • Delete previous pairings and try pairing again.
    • Move your device closer to the unit.
  • CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting wirelessly:
    • Ensure your phone's operating system meets the minimum requirements (e.g., Android 6.0+ for Android Auto).
    • Confirm that your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled.
    • For Android Auto, ensure you have a complete Google framework service and can connect to Google services.
    • Try connecting with a high-quality data cable first to establish initial connection.
  • Mirrorlink not working:
    • Mirrorlink requires a valid data cable connection. Ensure the cable is functional and properly connected.
    • Check your phone's settings for Mirrorlink compatibility and enable necessary permissions.
  • Steering wheel controls not responding:
    • Ensure the steering wheel control wires are correctly connected.
    • Perform the steering wheel control learning process in the unit's settings as described in Section 5.9.
  • Reverse camera image not displaying:
    • Verify that the optional reverse camera is correctly installed and connected to the reversing video input.
    • Check the camera's power supply.

7.1 Resetting the Unit

If the unit becomes unresponsive or experiences persistent software issues, locate the reset button (refer to Figure 4.6 for its location on the rear panel) and press it using a thin, pointed object (e.g., a paperclip). This will restart the unit without erasing user data.

8. User Tips

  • Verify Compatibility: Always double-check the product's compatibility with your specific car model and year before purchasing and installing to avoid fitment issues.
  • Professional Installation: If you are unsure about the wiring or installation process, it is highly recommended to seek professional assistance to prevent damage to the unit or your vehicle.
  • Wiring Accuracy: Pay close attention to the power wiring, especially the constant and accessory power lines, to ensure the unit powers on and off correctly with your vehicle's ignition.
  • Quality Data Cables: For wired functions like Mirrorlink or initial Android Auto setup, use high-quality data cables to ensure stable and reliable connections.
  • Optional Accessories: Remember that features like the reverse camera and driving recorder require optional accessories that are not included in the standard package.
