The TES-1160A features an intuitive button layout for easy navigation and measurement. Refer to Figure 3.1 for button locations.
5.1 Basic Measurements
Upon powering on, the device will typically display barometric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity. Use the MODE button to cycle through different measurement displays, such as dew point, wet bulb temperature, absolute humidity, etc.
5.2 Data Hold
To freeze the current reading on the display, press the HOLD button. Press it again to release and resume live readings.
5.3 MAX/MIN Readings
The device can record maximum and minimum values. Press the MAX/MIN button to view the highest and lowest recorded values since the function was activated. These readings are typically accompanied by a time stamp.
5.4 Unit Selection
To change the units of measurement (e.g., °C/°F for temperature, hPa/inHg for pressure), use the UNIT button.
5.5 Alarm Function
The TES-1160A includes an alarm output function. Refer to the detailed instruction manual (included in the package) for setting up and configuring alarm thresholds and outputs.
5.6 Data Memory
The device supports manual data memory. Use the MEM button to store current readings. The READ button allows you to recall stored data. The device has a data memory capacity of 99 sets (direct reading from LCD display).
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the sensor area clean and free from dust or debris.
6.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
6.3 Battery Replacement
Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure accurate readings and proper device function.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your TES-1160A, try the following steps:
- Device not powering on: Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the sensor is clean and unobstructed. Allow the device to stabilize in the measurement environment for a few minutes.
- Display issues: If the display is faint or erratic, replace the battery.
