1. Introduction

The WEP 982D-III is a 2-in-1 precision soldering station designed for intricate electronics work. It combines a desoldering tweezer and a soldering iron, allowing for simultaneous use. This station is particularly suitable for soldering small micro components under a microscope, commonly found in smartphones, laptops, drones, and network routers. It is important to note that this station is NOT suitable for circuits large in size.

2. Safety Precautions

  • Always operate the soldering station in a well-ventilated area.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, to protect against solder splashes and fumes.
  • Avoid touching the hot soldering iron tip or desoldering tweezers. Temperatures can reach up to 450°C (842°F).
  • Ensure the power cord is in good condition and properly connected to a grounded outlet.
  • Do not use the station near flammable materials.
  • Unplug the unit from the power source before performing any maintenance or when not in use.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Component Identification

Carefully unpack all components from the box. Verify that all parts are present:

  • Desoldering Tweezers (C120 or C210/C245 compatible)
  • Soldering Iron Handpiece (C210 or C245 compatible)

3.2 Connecting the Tools

Connect the desoldering tweezers and soldering iron handpiece to their respective ports on the main unit. Ensure connections are secure.

3.3 Installing Soldering Tips

Ensure the soldering iron and tweezers are cool before changing tips. The station features an easy tip change mechanism that does not require additional tools.

  • Carefully insert the desired tip into the handpiece.
  • Ensure the tip is fully seated and correctly aligned.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On

Connect the power cord to the main unit and a suitable power outlet. Press the power button to turn on the station. The full-color LED display will illuminate.

4.2 Rapid Heating

The WEP 982D-III features rapid heating, reaching operating temperature from 0°C to 450°C in approximately 2 seconds.

4.5 Auto Calibration
