5. Setup Guide
5.1. Powering the Device
The KingMa YK980 can be powered in two ways:
- Using the Power Adapter: Connect the included 12V/1A power adapter to the "12V/1A" port on the device and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Using an NP-F Series Battery: For portable use, insert a compatible NP-F550/750/970 series battery into the battery slot on the underside of the device. (Battery not included).

5.2. Connecting Input Sources
Connect your video source to the appropriate input port on the KingMa YK980:
- HDMI Input: Use an HDMI cable to connect devices like game consoles (PS5, Switch), computers, or set-top boxes to the "HDMI IN" port.
- MMI Input (Analog): Use the provided AV cables or other compatible cables to connect older devices such as VCRs, VHS players, DVD players, camcorders (Hi8), or other analog sources to the "MMI IN" port. This port supports VGA, YPbPr, AV, Line in, Mic, and VGA Audio in.

5.3. Connecting Output Display (Optional)
To view the input source or recorded content on a larger screen, connect an HDMI cable from the "HDMI OUT" port on the KingMa YK980 to your TV or monitor.
5.4. Inserting Storage Device
Insert a TF/SD memory card into the "TF" slot or connect a USB flash drive/mobile hard disk to the "USB" port. Ensure the storage device is formatted to a supported file system (NTFS, FAT32, exFAT, MBR, GPT) for optimal performance.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually located near the top right of the control panel) for approximately 2 seconds.
- Power Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 8 seconds to shut down the device.
6.2. Recording Video
- Ensure your video source is connected and powered on.
- Turn on the KingMa YK980. The input video should appear on the 3-inch LCD screen. If not, use the "Signal Input Switching Button" to select the correct input.
- Insert your preferred storage device (TF card or USB drive).
- Press the red REC/STOP button to start recording. A recording indicator will typically appear on the screen.
- Press the red REC/STOP button again to stop recording. The recorded file will be saved to your storage device.

6.3. Capturing Screenshots
During video recording, you can capture still images:
- While recording, press the blue Screenshot Shortcut Button (camera icon) to capture a still image. The image will be saved to your storage device without interrupting the video recording.
6.4. Playback and File Management
- Press the Playback File Recall Button to enter the file browser.
- Use the directional arrows to navigate through your recorded videos and images.
- Press the OK Button to play a selected file.
- To delete a file, select it and press the Delete File Button. Confirm your selection if prompted.
- Press the Back Button to exit playback or the file browser.
6.5. System Settings
To customize recording parameters and device settings:
- Press the System Setting Button to access the settings menu.
- Use the directional arrows to highlight options such as:
- Record Resolution (e.g., 1920x1080)

8. Troubleshooting
- No Signal on Screen:
- Check all cable connections (HDMI, AV, MMI) to ensure they are secure.
- Verify the input source device is powered on and outputting a signal.
- Use the "Signal Input Switching Button" to cycle through available inputs.
- Ensure the input resolution is supported by the device (refer to Specifications).
- Recording Not Starting/Saving:
- Check if a storage device (TF card or USB drive) is properly inserted.
- Ensure the storage device has sufficient free space.
- Verify the storage device is formatted to a supported file system (NTFS, FAT32, exFAT, MBR, GPT).
- Try reformatting the storage device (this will erase all data).
- Ensure the power supply is stable.
- Poor Video Quality:
- Check the input source quality. The device records at up to 1080P 60FPS, but cannot improve a low-quality input signal.
- In System Settings, ensure the "Record Resolution" and "Bitrate" are set to the highest desired quality.
- Ensure cables are not damaged or loose.
- Remote Control Not Responding:
- Check the battery in the remote control and replace if necessary.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device's IR receiver.
