11. Troubleshooting

11.1 No Power / Device Not Turning On

  • Check if the PoE injector or DC power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working power outlet.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functional.
  • Ensure the Ethernet cable from the PoE injector is connected to the correct PoE-enabled port on the bridge.

11.2 No Wireless Connection / Poor Signal

  • Ensure both bridge units are powered on and the Wireless Light is active.
  • Check the Signal Strength Lights on both devices. If they are low or off, adjust the alignment of the bridges to ensure a clear line of sight.
  • Verify that there are no significant physical obstructions (buildings, dense foliage) between the two units.
  • Confirm that the devices are configured in the correct operating modes (e.g., one as AP, the other as CLIENT).

11.3 Network Connectivity Issues

  • Check the RJ45 Light to ensure Ethernet activity.
  • Verify that the connected network devices (e.g., router, NVR, PC) are functioning correctly.
  • If using static IP addresses, ensure they are configured correctly and do not conflict with other devices on the network.
  • The device features a Smart Auto Reconnection (AI Ping watchdog) that can automatically reboot the device under certain conditions to restore connectivity.

11.4 Cannot Access Web Management Interface

  • Ensure your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the bridge's default IP address.
  • Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
  • If the IP address has been changed and forgotten, a factory reset may be necessary (press and hold the RESET button for 10-15 seconds while the device is powered on).

12. User Tips

  • Multi-Point Connectivity: For extending Wi-Fi to multiple distinct locations, you can use additional bridge units. The system supports Point-to-Many and Network Repeat configurations, allowing you to connect a central bridge to several client bridges or daisy-chain them for extended coverage.
  • Compatibility with Other Brands: While OPTFOCUS bridges are designed for seamless pairing with each other, compatibility with wireless CPE devices from other manufacturers (e.g., TP-Link CPE510) for direct Point-to-Point or Point-to-Multipoint links is not guaranteed. For best results and full feature utilization, it is recommended to use a pair of OPTFOCUS devices. If attempting to connect to a different brand, ensure the other device supports a universal repeater or client mode that is compatible with standard 5.8GHz wireless protocols.
  • Optimal Placement: Always aim for a clear line of sight between the bridges. Any obstacles like trees, buildings, or even heavy rain can degrade signal quality and reduce effective range.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the OPTFOCUS website or app for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features.

13. Safety Information

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Ensure proper grounding when installing outdoor equipment to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Use only the specified power adapters or PoE injectors.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures beyond its operating range.
  • Keep the device away from strong electromagnetic fields.
  • Always follow local regulations and guidelines for wireless device installation and operation.
