1. Introduction

The Aubess MINI-Z1 Zigbee Smart Switch Module is designed to integrate traditional lighting systems into your smart home ecosystem. This compact module enables remote control, voice control, scheduling, and automation of your lights via the Tuya Smart Life app and compatible voice assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Yandex Alice. It supports 1, 2, 3, or 4 channels, offering versatile control options for various lighting setups, including 2-way control configurations.

Note: This device requires a Tuya Zigbee Gateway (hub) for full functionality and smart features.

2. Specifications

The module is designed to be ultra-miniature, allowing it to be easily hidden within a traditional switch box. It is compatible with rocker and touch switches but not with reset switches.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Pre-installation Checklist

• Ensure power is OFF before installation to prevent electric shock.
• A Tuya Zigbee Gateway (hub) is required for smart functionality.
• The module is compatible with rocker and touch switches, but NOT with reset switches.
• Verify your existing wiring configuration.

3.2. Physical Installation

1. In a Switch Box: The module can be hidden inside a traditional wall switch box.
2. On the Lamp: Alternatively, it can be installed directly on the lamp fixture.

3.3. Wiring Diagrams

3.4. Pairing with Tuya Zigbee Gateway

To enable smart features, the module must be paired with a Tuya Zigbee Gateway.

1. Ensure your Zigbee Smart Gateway is powered on and connected to your network.
2. Open the Tuya Smart Life app and navigate to your Zigbee Smart Gateway.
3. Select "Add subdevice" or similar option to begin the pairing process.
4. On the Aubess switch module, long press the pairing button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes.
5. Confirm in the app that the LED is blinking and proceed with device discovery.
6. Once discovered, add the device and complete the setup in the app.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. App Remote Control

Control your lights from anywhere using the Tuya Smart Life app on your smartphone or tablet. The app provides an intuitive interface to turn lights on/off, set schedules, and manage other smart features.

4.2. Voice Control

Integrate the module with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Yandex Alice for hands-free voice control. Once connected, simply use voice commands to operate your lights.

4.3. 2-Way Control Functionality

4.6. Status Memory Function

The module retains its last known state (on, off) after a power outage. You can configure this behavior in the app to either restore the previous state, always turn on, or always turn off.

5. Maintenance

The Aubess Zigbee Smart Switch Module is designed for low maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance:

• Keep the module and connected switches clean and free from dust.
• Avoid exposing the device to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures outside its operating range (-10℃ to 40℃).
• Regularly check for firmware updates through the Tuya Smart Life app to ensure the device has the latest features and security patches.
• If the device is not responding, try power cycling it by turning off the main power supply for a few seconds and then turning it back on.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Device Not Pairing

• Ensure your Tuya Zigbee Gateway is online and within range of the switch module.
• Confirm the module's indicator light is blinking during the pairing process (long press the button for 5 seconds).
• Check for any obstructions or interference that might affect the Zigbee signal.
• Try resetting the module (refer to the pairing section for reset methods if the LED is not blinking).

6.2. No Response from App/Voice Control

• Verify that the Zigbee Gateway is connected to the internet and the Tuya Smart Life app.
• Check the module's status in the app; if it shows "offline," try power cycling the module or the gateway.
• Ensure your voice assistant (Alexa, Google Home) is properly linked to your Tuya Smart Life account.
• Confirm that the voice commands are correctly phrased and recognized by your voice assistant.

6.3. Light Flickering or Not Turning On/Off

• Ensure the wiring is correct according to the provided diagrams. Incorrect wiring can cause malfunctions.
• Check the load connected to the module. Ensure it does not exceed the maximum load specifications (LED 250W, 5A*2gang/3.3A*3gang/2.5A*4gang).
• Verify that the light bulb itself is functional.

7. User Tips

• Zigbee Gateway is Essential: Remember that this smart switch module requires a Tuya Zigbee Gateway to function as a smart device. Without it, it will not connect to the app or voice assistants.
• Compact Installation: Take advantage of its mini size (41x41x22 mm) to install it discreetly behind existing switches or directly within lamp fixtures, maintaining your home's aesthetic.
• Two-Way Control Upgrade: Easily upgrade your traditional two-way switch setups (e.g., for stair lights) to smart control without extensive re-wiring, by integrating this module.
