  • This camera supports high-speed Micro SD cards (Class 10 or above) only.
  • Please read this manual carefully before using the product.
  • Charge the camera for 3-5 hours before first use.

2. Product Overview

The Vandlion A39 is a portable mini camera designed for various recording needs, including use as a bicycle dash cam or body-worn camera. It features a 180-degree rotatable lens, infrared night vision, and multiple recording modes.

2.1 Package Contents

The Vandlion A39 Mini Camera comes in two package options:

3. Setup

3.1 Inserting the Micro SD Card

The camera supports Micro SD cards from 8GB up to 256GB (FAT32 format). To insert the card:

  1. Locate the Micro SD slot on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Gently push the Micro SD card into the slot until it clicks into place.

3.2 Charging the Camera

The camera has a built-in 3000mAh battery and supports USB-C charging. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours. You can record while charging.

3.3 Attaching Clips and Mounts

The camera comes with various clips and mounts for versatile use:

  • Detachable Clips: Two types of detachable clips are provided. One is an alligator clip style that can be secured in a pocket. The other is a longer clip that attaches to the central holder and allows for free adjustment of position.
  • Bicycle Mount (Advanced Package): This mount allows you to attach the camera to the handlebars or seat post of a bicycle. Measure the handlebar thickness to ensure proper fit.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

To power on the camera, press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds. Release the button once the "Welcome" screen appears. Holding it for too long will cause it to power off again.

4.2 Menu Navigation and Settings

To enter the menu mode, press and hold the 'M' button for 2 seconds. Use the navigation buttons to scroll through options and the 'OK' button to select.

  • Language: Navigate to menu item 9 to change the language. 11 languages are supported.
  • Date/Time: Set the date and time manually via the menu.
  • Video Resolution: Choose between 1080FHD, 1080P, or 720P.
  • Loop Recording: In menu item 5, select whether to record video in 5-minute or 10-minute segments. 5-minute segments are recommended for easier file management.
  • Motion Detection: Activate this function in menu item 4. The camera will continuously monitor for motion and start recording only when motion is detected. It does not turn off the camera.
  • Infrared Night Vision: When activated, a moon icon illuminates on the display, and the screen records in black and white. This allows recording in dark environments without any light.

4.3 Recording Functions

  • Quick Video Recording: Lift the second button on the right side of the camera upwards to quickly start video recording, even if the power is off.
  • Voice Recording: Lift the first button on the right side of the camera upwards to activate voice-only recording (excluding video).
  • Display On/Off: Press the back button to immediately turn off the display, whether in standby mode or during recording.

5. Data Management

5.1 Formatting Micro SD Card

To format the Micro SD card, navigate to menu item 8. This will delete all data on the card and prepare it for use.

5.2 Playback and Transferring Files

  • On-Device Playback: Recorded files can be played directly on the camera's 1.54-inch TFT colorful screen. You can also select and delete files from here.
  • Connecting to PC: Connect the camera to your computer using the included Type-C charging cable. You will be presented with two options:
    • Storage: Select this option to access the stored memory and transfer files to your computer. You can also play videos directly without copying them.
    • Webcam: Select this option to use the camera as a webcam.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the camera clean and free from dust and moisture.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Regularly format the Micro SD card to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Use only the provided Type-C cable for charging and data transfer.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds, releasing it once the welcome screen appears.
  • Recording issues: Check if the Micro SD card is inserted correctly and has sufficient space. Format the card if necessary.
  • Poor video quality: Ensure the lens is clean. Check the selected video resolution in the menu settings.
  • Motion detection not working: Verify that the motion detection function is activated in the menu.
  • Cannot connect to PC: Try a different USB port or cable. Ensure the correct option (Storage or Webcam) is selected on the camera's display when connected.

  • For safety situations, consider using the motion detection feature to conserve battery and storage, ensuring you capture only relevant events.
  • When reviewing files, setting loop recording to 5-minute segments can make it easier to locate specific moments without dealing with very large files.
  • Utilize the 180-degree rotatable lens to capture different angles without repositioning the entire camera, especially useful when mounted.
  • If using the camera as a dash cam, regularly check the lens for dirt or obstructions to maintain clear recordings.
