8. Troubleshooting and FAQ

Common Issues & Solutions:

  • Device not turning on or crashing: If there are abnormal phenomena such as a crash or failure to turn on, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to reset the device.
  • No audio dynamic bar on transmitter: This is normal if the transmitter and receiver are not connected.
  • STEREO function not working: STEREO function cannot be realized in single-channel and safety mode.
  • Recording and copying files simultaneously: This function is not supported.
  • Sound explosive in recording (high sensitivity cameras): Use the 3.5mm TRS-TRS Audio Output Cable with Impedance (for Sony, Panasonic, Fujifilm, etc.).
  • 2.4G wireless interference when using with mobile phone: Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your mobile phone to avoid interference.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How do I connect it to my iPhone?
For iPhone users, connect a 3.5mm to Lightning adapter with OTG to the receiver. (It is highly recommended to use the CVM-D-MI audio output cable from COMICA.) Note that the iPhone speaker won't work when connected.
  2. How do I connect it to my USB-C (Type C) Phone/Laptop?
For USB-C devices, connect a 3.5mm to USB-C audio adapter with OTG (not included). (It is highly recommended to use the CVM-D-UC II Output Cable or CVM-SPX-UC Cable Adapter from COMICA.) Your phone speaker won't output sound.
  3. Can it be used while charging?
It can be used while charging with a power bank. However, it cannot be used while charging with an AC charger, as this may introduce current noise.
  4. Why is the sound of the onboard recording lower than the sound output directly to the device?
The onboard recording is designed to reduce the gain to prevent the sound from being too loud. If the sound is lower, it is easier to increase the volume in post-production. If the sound is too loud, it may not be possible to lower it effectively in post-production.
  5. Can I record my audio to the transmitter directly?
Yes, the transmitter has 8GB internal memory, which can store approximately 24 hours of audio recording. It can be used as a standalone voice recorder.

10. User Tips

  • For optimal audio quality, always use the included wind muff when recording outdoors or in windy conditions.
  • When connecting to a smartphone, disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to minimize potential 2.4G wireless interference.
  • If you experience sound distortion or 'explosive' audio with high-sensitivity cameras (e.g., Sony, Panasonic, Fujifilm), use the specialized 3.5mm TRS-TRS Audio Output Cable with Impedance.
  • Remember that the transmitter's mute function only affects the audio output to the receiver, not the internal recording. This allows for a clean backup recording even if the live feed is muted.
  • Keep the devices charged using the provided USB-C cables. The 3-in-1 cable allows simultaneous charging and data transfer for the orange cable.
