5. Setup Guide

5.1. App Download and Account Creation

To use your camera, you need to download the 'Cam720' app and create an account.

  1. Search for “Cam720” in your device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android).
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account and log in.

5.2. Physical Installation

The camera can be mounted in various ways. Ensure the camera is positioned to cover the desired area and is within Wi-Fi range.

  • Wall Mount: Use the provided bracket and screws to securely attach the camera to a wall.
  • Ceiling Mount: Similar to wall mount, attach the bracket to the ceiling.
  • Light Bulb Socket Mount: If applicable, some models may support direct installation into a light bulb socket.

Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the camera's weight. Connect the USB power cable after mounting.

5.3. Camera Connection Methods

Your camera supports multiple connection methods to suit your network environment.

  1. Bluetooth (BT) Configuration:
    • Power on the camera.
    • Open the Cam720 app, go to 'Add a device'.
    • Select the Bluetooth connection option. The app will search for nearby devices (e.g., BQA-DOA5 or BQA-AEG).
    • Select your camera from the list and follow the app's instructions to complete the connection.
  2. Wireless (Wi-Fi) Connection:
    • Power on the camera.
    • Ensure the camera and your Wi-Fi router are within two meters during initial setup for a stable connection.
    • In the Cam720 app, select 'Add a device' and choose the Wi-Fi connection option.
    • Follow the app's prompts to connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi network. You may need to reset the camera if it's not found.
    • Note: The 8MP camera supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. The 3MP camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  3. Wired Connection (8MP Camera Only):
    • Connect the camera to your router's LAN port using a network cable.
    • In the Cam720 app, select 'Add a device' and choose the wired connection option.
    • The app will discover the device on your local network.
  4. AP Hotspot Mode:
    • This mode allows monitoring even without an internet connection.
    • In the Cam720 app, select 'Add a device' and choose the option to connect to the device's hotspot.
    • Note: The 3MP camera does not support network cable connection, but may support AP Hotspot mode for local viewing.

Important: Always keep the camera and router at a distance of two meters during the initial Wi-Fi setup for optimal signal strength.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Dual Lens & Dual Screen Monitoring

The camera features a dual-lens system, allowing you to monitor two different areas simultaneously within the Cam720 app. One lens is fixed for a wide overview, while the other is a PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) lens that can be rotated to track specific movements or focus on details.

  • Fixed Lens: Provides a constant view of a designated area.
  • PTZ Lens: Use the app to pan (0°-360°), tilt (0°-360°), and digitally zoom (5x) to cover a wider or more specific area.
  • Preset Positions: Set up to two preset positions for quick navigation to important areas. The camera supports 360° timed cruise detection without missing any important area.
  • Dual Screen View: View both camera feeds simultaneously within the app.
