EGS002 Pure Sine Wave Inverter SPWM Driver Board Instruction Manual

Model: EGS002 (EG8010 + IR2113 Driving Module)

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the EGS002 Pure Sine Wave Inverter SPWM Driver Board. This module is designed to generate a pure sine wave for DC-AC power conversion, utilizing the EG8010 digital pure sine wave inverter dedicated chip and IR2113 driver ICs. It is suitable for various inverter applications requiring a stable and clean AC output.

2. Product Overview

The EGS002 is a specialized driver board for pure sine wave inverters. It integrates the EG8010 chip, a digital, fully functional, dead-time control of the pure sine wave inverter generator chip, and two IR2113 gate driver ICs. It also includes a 12Mhz crystal oscillator for precise timing and supports an external LCD module for display. The board is available in two main types, differing in their low-voltage protection features.

5. Setup and Installation

The EGS002 board is a component of a larger inverter system. Proper installation requires knowledge of electronics and power circuits. Always ensure power is disconnected before making any connections.

5.1. Connecting the LCD Module

The LCD module connects to the dedicated LCD interface on the EGS002 board using the provided ribbon cable. Ensure the cable is oriented correctly to avoid damage.

5.2. Integrating into an Inverter Circuit

The EGS002 board provides the SPWM signals to drive the power stage (e.g., MOSFETs or IGBTs) of a DC-AC inverter. Refer to the pin labels on the bottom of the board (Figure 4) for correct connections to your power stage, feedback circuits, and auxiliary power supplies. The board itself requires a 5V DC power supply.

5.3. Low-Voltage Protection

The EGS002 board is available in two versions: one with low-voltage protection and one without. If your application requires low-voltage protection for the DC input, ensure you have the correct version of the board. This feature helps prevent over-discharge of batteries in battery-powered inverter systems.

6. Operation

Once correctly installed within an inverter circuit and powered, the EGS002 board will generate the necessary SPWM signals to produce a pure sine wave AC output. The external LCD module, if connected, will display operational parameters such as output voltage, frequency, and other status information, depending on the inverter's design.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Output/Incorrect Waveform: Verify all connections, especially to the power stage and feedback circuits. Ensure the 5V DC power supply to the EGS002 board is stable.
  • Inverter Shuts Down: If using the version with low-voltage protection, check the DC input voltage to the inverter. If it falls below the threshold, the board will trigger a shutdown to protect the power source.
  • LCD Not Displaying: Check the ribbon cable connection to the LCD module and the EGS002 board. Ensure the LCD module itself is functional and compatible.
  • Overheating: Ensure adequate cooling for the power stage components of your inverter. While the EGS002 itself consumes minimal power, the overall inverter system can generate significant heat.

8. Maintenance

The EGS002 driver board is a robust electronic component and requires minimal maintenance. To ensure longevity and reliable operation:

  • Keep the board clean and free from dust and debris.
  • Avoid exposing the board to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Handle with care to prevent physical damage to components or solder joints.
  • Ensure proper ventilation in the enclosure where the inverter is installed.

9. User Tips

  • When designing your inverter, consider the power requirements. For high-power applications (e.g., 3500 watts), ensure all power stage components (MOSFETs, transformers, capacitors) are appropriately rated.
  • If you require a specific LCD model (e.g., LCD 12832), confirm compatibility with the EGS002 board's interface.
  • Always double-check the type of EGS002 board you have (with or without low-voltage protection) to match your application's safety requirements.

10. Warranty and Support

For any technical assistance, troubleshooting, or warranty inquiries, please contact the seller or manufacturer directly. Provide your purchase details and a clear description of the issue for efficient support.
