Setup Instructions
Before you begin, ensure your computer case is compatible with Micro-ATX motherboards and that you have all necessary components (CPU, RAM, storage, power supply, etc.). Always handle the motherboard by its edges and wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
1. CPU Installation
- Locate the LGA 1155 socket on the motherboard.
- Open the CPU socket lever and lift the metal load plate.
- Carefully align your Intel LGA 1155 CPU with the socket, ensuring the golden triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the socket. Do not force the CPU into the socket.
- Lower the load plate and secure it with the lever.
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the CPU's heat spreader.
- Install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions, ensuring it makes good contact with the CPU.
2. RAM Installation
- Locate the two DDR3 DIMM slots.
- Open the clips at both ends of the DIMM slot.
- Align the notch on the DDR3 RAM module with the key in the DIMM slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the RAM module until the clips snap into place.
3. M.2 SSD Installation
- Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
- Gently push the SSD down and secure it with the provided screw (not included with motherboard, typically comes with SSD or case).
4. SATA Device Installation
- Connect SATA data cables from your storage devices (HDDs/SSDs) to the SATA ports on the motherboard.
- Connect SATA power cables from your power supply to the storage devices.
5. Power Connections
- Connect the 24-pin ATX main power connector from your power supply to the corresponding header on the motherboard.
- Connect the 4-pin ATX12V CPU power connector from your power supply to the header near the CPU socket.
6. Front Panel & I/O Shield
- Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of your computer case.
- Mount the motherboard into the case, aligning it with the standoffs and securing it with screws.
- Connect the front panel headers (Power Switch, Reset Switch, HDD LED, Power LED, Front USB, Front Audio) to their respective pins on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard diagram for correct pin assignments.

Operating Instructions
1. Initial Boot and BIOS Setup
- After assembling your PC, connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- Power on your system. Press the 'DEL' key (or F2, F10, F12 depending on BIOS version) repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
- In the BIOS, you can configure boot order, system time, enable/disable integrated peripherals, and monitor system status.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS to continue booting.
2. Operating System Installation
- Prepare a bootable USB drive or DVD with your desired operating system (Windows 7/8/10 recommended).
- Set the boot device priority in BIOS to boot from your installation media.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system.
3. Driver Installation
After OS installation, install the necessary drivers for optimal performance. Drivers typically include:
- Chipset Drivers
- LAN (Ethernet) Drivers
- Audio Drivers
- Graphics Drivers (for integrated graphics or discrete GPU)
These drivers are usually provided on a support CD/DVD or can be downloaded from the SOYO official website or the chipset manufacturer's website.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and stable operation of your motherboard.
- Dust Cleaning: Regularly clean dust from inside your computer case, especially around the CPU cooler, chipset heatsink, and fan headers. Use compressed air or a soft brush. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- BIOS Updates: Periodically check the SOYO official website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
- Cable Management: Ensure all cables are neatly routed and secured to improve airflow and prevent accidental disconnections.
- Environmental Control: Operate your PC in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and humidity.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
- No Power/No Boot:
- Check all power connections: 24-pin ATX, 4-pin ATX12V, and power supply to components.
- Ensure the power supply is switched on.
- Verify the front panel power switch connection to the motherboard.
- No Display:
- Ensure the monitor is connected to the correct video output (VGA, HDMI, or DVI-D) on the motherboard or discrete graphics card.
- Reseat the RAM modules. Try booting with one RAM stick at a time.
- Check if the CPU cooler is properly installed.
- System Instability/Crashes:
- Ensure all drivers are installed and up to date.
- Check CPU and GPU temperatures. Overheating can cause instability.
- Run memory diagnostic tools to check for faulty RAM.
- M.2 SSD Not Detected:
- Ensure the M.2 SSD is fully seated and secured in the slot.
- Check BIOS settings to ensure the M.2 slot is enabled and configured correctly (NVMe or SATA mode, if applicable).
- No Internet Connection:
- Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the RJ45 port on the motherboard and your router/modem.
- Install the latest LAN drivers.
- Check network settings in your operating system.
User Tips
- BIOS Battery: Remember to purchase a CR2032 coin cell battery separately for the motherboard's BIOS. This battery maintains BIOS settings and the system clock when the PC is powered off.
- CPU Compatibility: This motherboard supports Intel LGA1155 CPUs from the 2nd and 3rd generations (e.g., Intel Core i3-3220, i5-3570k). Ensure your CPU is compatible before installation.
- PCIe Version: The motherboard features a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, providing ample bandwidth for modern graphics cards.
- TPM Header: The motherboard includes a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) header, allowing for the installation of a TPM module for enhanced security features, if desired.
- No Integrated WiFi: This motherboard does not have integrated WiFi. For wireless connectivity, you will need to install a PCIe WiFi card or use a USB WiFi adapter.
