4.3. Alarm Functions

The TK202 tracker offers several alarm features to enhance security and monitoring:

  • Vibration Alarm: Automatic alarm when the device detects abnormal vibration.
  • Low Battery Alarm: Automatic alarm when the device's power is lower than 20%.
  • Electronic Fence (Geo-fence): Automatic alarm when the device enters or leaves a pre-set safety zone.
  • Removal Alarm: An alarm notification is sent when the device is disassembled or removed.

These alarms can be pushed via the platform, mobile app, phone call, and SMS.

4.4. Work Modes

The TK202 supports four different work modes, which can be switched via SMS command or through the app:

  1. Vibration Saving Power Mode (Default): The working time depends on the location interval time you set. For a 5000mAh battery, 2-minute interval time can work 4-5 days; 10-minute interval time can work 10-12 days.
  2. Single Position Mode: In this mode, the app always shows online, but GPS time does not update (only GSM time updates). To check the position, click 'signal positioning' in the app, and the device will then return to sleep.
  3. Emergency Real-time Mode: The device will not go to sleep and will continuously track, consuming more power.
  4. SMS Mode (GPRS closed): Call the device's SIM card number or send 'smslink123456' to reply with a Google position map to the admin number. This mode can work for approximately 90 days.

Power Saving Mode Comparison: SMS Mode (D) > Single Position Mode (B) > Vibration Saving Power Mode (A) > Emergency Real-time Mode (C). SMS Mode (D) is the most power-efficient work mode.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Care

The device uses an industrial lithium battery designed for many recharge cycles. To maximize battery life:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Do not fully discharge the battery regularly.
  • Charge the device fully before long periods of inactivity.

For continuous power, an optional car battery charger is available to connect the TK202 directly to a car battery (9V-28V input), transforming it into a long-term, wired tracking solution.

5.2. Waterproofing

The TK202 tracker has an IP65 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. While it can withstand splashes and rain, it should not be submerged in water.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Device Not Online

  • Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated.
  • Verify that the SIM card has sufficient balance and data plan.
  • Check the GSM and GPS signal indicator lights. Both should be on.
  • Allow 1-2 minutes for the device to come online after initial activation/login.

6.2. SIM Card Network Compatibility

The tracker is a 4G network device. Please ensure you use a SIM card that supports 4G LTE-FDD B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28/B66 bands. If your country has discontinued 2G networks, a 4G SIM card is essential for proper functionality.

6.3. Password Recovery

If you forget your login password for the DAGPS app or web platform, there is typically a 'Forgot Password' or 'Recover Password' option on the login screen. Follow the instructions provided by the application to reset your password. If no such option is visible, contact DAGPS support for assistance.
