3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. Follow these steps carefully:
3.1. Prepare the TPLEX Unit
- Charge the Unit: Before first use, fully charge the TPLEX unit using the provided USB Type-C cable. Connect it to a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging time is approximately 2.5 hours.
- Insert Micro SD Card: Open the SD card slot cover and insert a Micro SD card (up to 128GB, Class 10 or higher recommended) with the contacts facing down. Close the cover securely.
3.2. Install on Helmet
The TPLEX unit can be mounted using either a clip-on bracket or an adhesive bracket.
- Choose Mounting Location: Select a flat surface on the left side of your helmet, near the bottom edge, where the unit will not obstruct your vision or movement.
- Attach Mounting Bracket:
- Clip-on Bracket: Slide the clip between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Ensure it is firmly secured.
- Adhesive Bracket: Clean the helmet surface thoroughly with an alcohol wipe and let it dry. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad and firmly press the bracket onto the helmet for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure before attaching the TPLEX unit.
- Mount TPLEX Unit: Slide the TPLEX main unit onto the installed bracket until it clicks into place.
3.3. Install Speakers and Microphone
- Speaker Placement: Attach the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets using the adhesive Velcro pads. Ensure they are positioned directly over your ears for clear audio.
- Microphone Placement:
- Boom Microphone (for open-face/modular helmets): Attach the boom microphone to the inside of the helmet, positioning the microphone capsule directly in front of your mouth.
- Wired Microphone (for full-face helmets): Attach the wired microphone to the inside of the chin bar, positioning it close to your mouth.
- Connect Cables: Route the speaker and microphone cables neatly under the helmet padding to the TPLEX unit. Plug them into the corresponding ports on the main unit.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator lights illuminate.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator lights turn off.
4.2. Bluetooth Pairing (for Phone/GPS)
- With the TPLEX unit powered on, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the Bluetooth indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or GPS device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "ABKO TPLEX" from the list. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will turn solid blue.
4.3. Intercom Function
The TPLEX supports 2-person intercom communication up to 800 meters.
- Ensure both TPLEX units are powered on and within range.
- On one unit, briefly press the Intercom button. The unit will search for another TPLEX device.
- Once connected, the intercom indicator light will turn solid. To end the intercom call, briefly press the Intercom button again.
4.4. Black Box (Dashcam) Operation
- Start Recording: After powering on, the device typically starts recording automatically. If not, briefly press the Record button. The recording indicator light will be solid.
- Stop Recording: Briefly press the Record button again.
- Loop Recording: The device automatically overwrites the oldest files when the SD card is full.
- Impact Detection Recording: In case of an impact, the device will automatically save the current recording segment as a protected file that will not be overwritten.
4.5. Using the ABKO TPLEX App
The dedicated mobile app allows for real-time viewing of the camera feed, adjusting settings, and managing recordings.
- Download App: Search for "ABKO TPLEX" in your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android) and install it.
- Connect via Wi-Fi:
- Turn on your TPLEX unit.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the TPLEX unit for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator light flashes.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the TPLEX Wi-Fi network (SSID typically starts with "TPLEX-"). The default password is
12345678. - Open the ABKO TPLEX app. The app should automatically connect to the device.
- App Functions: Within the app, you can view live camera feed, change recording settings (resolution, loop duration), download recorded videos, and update firmware.
4.6. Voice Assistant
Once your smartphone is connected via Bluetooth, you can activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant) by briefly pressing the Voice Assistant button on the TPLEX unit.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Charging
Charge the device regularly, especially after long periods of non-use, to maintain battery health. Use only the provided USB Type-C cable.
5.2. Cleaning
- Wipe the exterior of the TPLEX unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Keep the camera lens clean for clear recordings. Use a lens cleaning cloth if necessary.
- Ensure the microphone and speaker ports are free from dust and debris.
5.3. Micro SD Card Management
- Periodically format the Micro SD card using the ABKO TPLEX app or a computer to ensure optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.
- Replace the Micro SD card if you notice frequent errors or degraded performance.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the unit to a charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power on again.

6.2. Bluetooth Connection Issues
- Ensure the TPLEX unit is in pairing mode (Bluetooth indicator flashing rapidly).
- Make sure your phone/GPS Bluetooth is enabled and visible.
