4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Driver Installation (Windows)

To use the printer with a Windows operating system, you must install the appropriate driver. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the printer driver from the official website: http://www.zjiang.com/en/init.php/service/driver. Look for the 'Neutral Printer Driver'.
  2. Double-click the downloaded driver executable to start the installation.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts, clicking 'Next' to proceed through the setup wizard.
  4. Accept the default installation folder or choose a custom one.
  5. Create a shortcut on the desktop if desired.
  6. Complete the installation.
  7. When prompted, choose the correct printer series (e.g., POS-80).
  8. Configure the port. Select 'USB001' for USB connection.
  9. Finish the installation.

4.2 Network (LAN) Setup

For network connectivity, follow these steps to configure the printer:

  1. Connect the printer to your network via the LAN port.
  2. Access the printer's web configuration interface by entering its IP address (e.g., 10.10.100.254) in a web browser.
  3. Log in using the default username 'admin' and password 'admin'.

  1. Navigate to 'Work Mode' and select 'AP+STA mode'. Save the setting.

Note: When the module is selected to STA mode (NIC), then re-start the module, you can not reuse the wireless configuration, SSID number can not be found.

  1. Go to 'STA Setting'. Click 'Scan' to find available wireless networks. Select your desired network and click 'OK'.

  1. Input the correct network configuration details (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address, DNS Server Address) and click 'Save'.

  1. Select 'Other Setting' and configure the Serial Port Parameters and Network Parameters as follows:
    • Serial Port Parameters: Baud Rate: 115200, Data Bit: 8, Parity Bit: None, Stop Bit: 1, CTS/RTS: Disable.
    • Network Parameters: Protocol: TCP Server, Port ID: 9100, Server Address: 10.10.100.254.
  2. Click 'Save' after making changes.

  1. Restart the device.

  1. To verify the network connection, open Command Prompt (CMD) on your computer and input ping 192.168.1.105 -t (replace with your printer's IP if different). If the connection is successful, you will see continuous replies.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Loading Thermal Paper

The HZ-8360 printer supports 80mm wide thermal paper rolls. To load paper:

  1. Press the 'Open Cover' button to open the printer's top cover.
  2. Place the new thermal paper roll into the paper warehouse, ensuring the paper feeds from the bottom and the leading edge is straight.
  3. Pull a small amount of paper out past the cutter mechanism.
  4. Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place. The printer will automatically align the paper.

5.2 Printing

Once the printer is connected and drivers are installed, you can initiate printing from your POS software or application. The HZ-8360 offers high-speed printing at 220mm/s and features an automatic cutter for efficient receipt handling.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your thermal receipt printer.

  • Cleaning the Print Head: Periodically clean the thermal print head with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the printer is turned off and cooled down before cleaning.
  • Cleaning the Paper Path: Remove any paper dust or debris from the paper path and cutter area using a soft brush or compressed air.
  • External Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ensure no foreign objects are placed near the paper exit or cutter mechanism.
  • Proper Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the printer in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
