Setup
- **Unpacking**: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
- **Placement**: Place the machine on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
- **Water Tank**: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Reinsert the tank securely.
- **Bean Hopper**: Open the lid of the bean hopper located on top of the machine. Pour fresh coffee beans into the hopper. Close the lid.
- **Initial Rinse**: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle. Fill the water tank, place a large container under the coffee outlet and steam wand. Turn on the machine and run a cycle without coffee to flush the system. Repeat this process for the steam wand.
- **Grinder Adjustment**: The AC510 features 15 gear grinding settings. Adjust the grind size dial on top of the machine according to your coffee beans and desired extraction. Finer grinds are typically for espresso, coarser for other methods.
Operating Instructions
1. Grinding Coffee
- Ensure the portafilter is clean and dry.
- Place the portafilter under the grinder outlet.
- Press the grinding button (coffee bean icon) on the control panel. The machine will grind the set amount of coffee directly into the portafilter.
- Adjust the grind time or amount if necessary using the machine's controls.

2. Tamping
- After grinding, use the provided tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the portafilter.
- Ensure the surface is level to promote even extraction.
3. Brewing Espresso
- Insert the portafilter into the brewing head and lock it into place by turning it to the right.
- Place your cup(s) on the drip tray under the portafilter spouts.
- Select your desired brewing mode:
- **Small Cup Mode**: For a single shot of espresso.
- **Big Cup Mode**: For a double shot of espresso or a larger volume.
- Press the corresponding button on the control panel. The machine will begin brewing.
- Once brewing is complete, the machine will stop automatically. Carefully remove the portafilter.
4. Steaming Milk (Milk Bubble Mode)
- Fill a stainless steel milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
- Press the "Milk Bubble Mode" button (steam icon) on the control panel to activate the steam.
- Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air for frothing, then raise it to heat the milk.
- Continue until the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture.
- Turn off the steam by pressing the "Milk Bubble Mode" button again.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
5. Coffee Types
Your AC510 can create a variety of coffee beverages:

- **Espresso**: Brew a single or double shot using the appropriate cup mode.
- **Americano**: Add hot water to an espresso shot.
- **Macchiato**: Espresso with a dollop of frothed milk.
- **Latte**: Espresso with steamed milk and a thin layer of foam.
- **Cappuccino**: Espresso with equal parts steamed milk and thick foam.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee machine.
Daily Cleaning
- **Portafilter**: After each use, remove the spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
- **Steam Wand**: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any internal milk residue.
- **Drip Tray**: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
- **Water Tank**: Empty any remaining water and rinse the water tank daily. Refill with fresh water for the next use.
Weekly Cleaning
- **Brewing Head**: Use a damp cloth to wipe the brewing head and remove any coffee grounds.
- **Grinder**: Periodically clean the grinder burrs according to the instructions in the full manual (if available) or by running a small amount of rice through it (consult manufacturer first).
Descaling
Depending on water hardness, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines and follow the product's instructions. This process removes mineral buildup that can affect machine performance and coffee taste.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine does not turn on | Not plugged in; power outage; faulty power cord. | Check power connection; ensure outlet is working; contact support if cord is damaged. |
| No coffee dispenses | Water tank empty; portafilter not properly inserted; coffee too finely ground/over-tamped. | Fill water tank; re-insert portafilter correctly; adjust grind size or tamping pressure. |
| Weak or watery coffee | Coffee grounds too coarse; insufficient coffee dose; machine needs descaling. | Adjust grind size finer; increase coffee dose; descale the machine. |
| No steam from wand | Steam wand clogged; machine not at steaming temperature. | Clean steam wand hole with a pin; wait for machine to heat up to steam temperature. |
| Water leaking from machine | Water tank not seated correctly; drip tray full; internal seal issue. | Ensure water tank is properly seated; empty drip tray; contact support if problem persists. |

User Tips
- **Regular Cleaning is Key**: While the machine does not have an automatic self-cleaning cycle, consistent manual cleaning of the portafilter, steam wand, and drip tray after each use will prevent buildup and maintain coffee quality.
- **Water Quality**: Using filtered water can significantly reduce the frequency of descaling and improve the taste of your coffee.
- **Grind Fresh**: For the best flavor, always grind your coffee beans just before brewing.
- **Experiment with Grind Size**: Don't be afraid to adjust the grinder settings. A finer grind is generally better for espresso, but the ideal setting can vary based on the beans and your personal preference.
