Water Resistance (50M / 5 Bar)

The SKMEI 1999 watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 Bar). This means it is suitable for daily use, including hand washing, showering, and swimming in shallow water. However, it is NOT recommended for diving or prolonged underwater activities. Do NOT press any buttons while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect its accuracy and lifespan.
- Shocks: While the watch is shock-resistant, avoid strong impacts or dropping it.
- Battery Replacement: When the display becomes dim or the watch stops functioning, the battery may need replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure the water resistance seal is properly maintained.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or dim. | Low battery. | Replace the battery. |
| Time is inaccurate. | Incorrect setting or exposure to strong magnetic fields. | Reset the time. Avoid strong magnetic fields. |
| Buttons are unresponsive. | Watch may be wet or internal malfunction. | Ensure watch is dry. If problem persists, seek professional service. |
| Condensation inside the watch. | Water resistance compromised (e.g., buttons pressed underwater, extreme temperature changes). | Stop using the watch immediately and seek professional repair to prevent further damage. |
User Tips
- When setting the time or date, ensure you are in the correct mode and that the digits are flashing before making adjustments.
- To conserve battery life, avoid excessive use of the EL backlight.
- Always ensure the watch is completely dry before attempting to press any buttons, especially after exposure to water.
