  • Back up important video files to another storage device before formatting.
  • Replace the SD card if you notice frequent errors or degraded performance.

6.3 Software Updates

Periodically check for software updates through the device settings or the manufacturer's website to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the original power cord is securely connected to the vehicle's power outlet and the vehicle is running. Remember, the device does not have an internal battery.
  • Recording issues: Check if the SD card is inserted correctly, is Class 10 or higher, and has sufficient free space. Format the SD card if necessary.
  • GPS signal loss: Ensure the external GPS antenna is properly connected and has a clear view of the sky. Move the vehicle to an open area if signal is weak.
  • 4G/WiFi connectivity problems: Verify the SIM card is correctly inserted and active. Check network signal strength. For WiFi, ensure you are within range of a known network or the dash cam's hotspot is enabled.
  • App (CarKeeper) connection issues: Ensure the dash cam has an active internet connection (4G or WiFi) and the CarKeeper app on your smartphone is updated to the latest version.
  • Screen unresponsive: Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (note: this will erase all data and settings).

8. User Tips

  • Optimal SD Card: Always use a high-quality Class 10 (or U1/U3) Micro SD card from a reputable brand to ensure stable recording and data integrity.
  • Regular Formatting: Format your SD card monthly to prevent fragmentation and potential recording errors.
  • App Updates: Keep the CarKeeper app on your smartphone updated for the best remote monitoring experience and new features.
  • Cable Management: Neatly route all cables (power, rear camera, GPS, OBD) to avoid obstructing your view or interfering with vehicle controls. Use cable clips if necessary.
  • Screen Protection: Consider applying a screen protector to the 10-inch display to prevent scratches.
  • ADAS Calibration: For optimal ADAS performance, ensure the front camera is clean and properly aligned.
