6.2. Live/Neutral Wire Check

To distinguish between live and neutral wires, use the test nib to approach each wire. The device will compare the strength of the detected voltage signal:

  • Live Wire: The device will detect a stronger voltage signal, typically indicated by a red backlight and a higher reading.
  • Neutral Wire: The device will detect a weaker or no voltage signal, typically indicated by a green backlight.

6.3. Zero Fireline Detection (Breakpoint Finding)

This function helps identify the live (fire) line and the neutral (zero) line, and can also assist in finding breakpoints in a live wire.

  • Fire Line Measurement: When the test nib is near the fire line, the backlight turns red, and an alarm sound is issued.
  • Zero Line Measurement: When the test nib is near the zero line, the device will show no reactivity or a green screen display.

6.4. Circuit Continuity Check

The device can check if a circuit is on or off by sensing the strength of the signal. This is useful for identifying breaks in wires or checking switch functionality.

  • High Signal Intensity: Red backlight flashes, indicating continuity or a strong signal.
  • Medium to Low Signal Strength: Green backlight flashes, indicating a weaker signal or partial continuity.
