1. Introduction

The BSIDE K7 is a professional handheld electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation detector designed to measure electromagnetic field radiation, electric field strength, and ambient temperature. Equipped with three built-in sensors, it provides comprehensive detection capabilities for various environments. This device helps users identify and mitigate potential radiation risks in their surroundings, such as from household appliances, electronic devices, and industrial equipment.

Radiation is ubiquitous and can potentially impact human health, affecting systems such as bones, vision, fertility, the circulatory system, nervous system, and immune system. The BSIDE K7 offers a reliable tool to monitor these fields.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions before operating the device. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device.
  • Keep the device away from water and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly according to polarity markings.
  • When the test result exceeds the safe value, the instrument will automatically activate a buzzer alarm. Pay attention to these warnings.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Components

The BSIDE K7 EMF Meter features a user-friendly design with clearly labeled buttons and a large LCD display.

  1. Sensors: Three built-in electromagnetic radiation sensors for comprehensive detection.
  2. LCD: Extra-large display for clear readings.
  3. Buzzer Switch / ON/OFF Button: Powers the device on/off and controls the buzzer alarm.
  4. SEL- Button: Used for mode selection or decreasing values.
  5. UNIT+ Button: Used for unit switching or increasing values, also activates the flashlight.
  6. HOLD MAX Button: Toggles between data hold and maximum data display.

3.2 Display Elements

  • E-field: Electric field strength reading.
  • H-field: Magnetic field strength reading.
  • AVG/MAX: Indicates average or maximum reading mode.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows current battery level.
  • Temperature: Displays ambient room temperature.
  • Units: Displays the current measurement units (e.g., V/M, mG, µT, ℃/℉).

5. Setup

The BSIDE K7 EMF Meter requires three 1.5V AAA batteries (not included) for operation.

  1. Install Batteries: Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device. Open the compartment cover and insert three AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery cover securely.
  2. Initial Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF button to power on the device. The LCD display will light up.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Measurement

  1. Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn on the device.
  2. Positioning: Hold the meter with the spherical sensor facing the area or device you wish to measure.
  3. Reading: The E-field (electric field) and H-field (magnetic field) readings will be displayed on the LCD. Ambient temperature is also shown.

6.2 Mode and Unit Switching

  • Unit Switch: Press the 'UNIT+' button to cycle through different measurement units for magnetic field (mG, µT) or temperature (℃, ℉).
  • Mode Switch (Backlight): The 'SEL-' button may also control backlight or other modes.

6.3 Data Hold and Max Data

  • HOLD MAX Button: Press this button to freeze the current readings on the display (Data Hold). Press it again to display the maximum recorded values (Max Data) since the device was powered on or the function was reset.

6.4 Buzzer Alarm

The device features an automatic buzzer alarm. If the detected electromagnetic field or electric field strength exceeds the predefined safe thresholds (e.g., >4.0mG, >0.4µT, >40V/M), the buzzer will sound to alert the user. The buzzer can be toggled on/off using the ON/OFF button (short press after power on, if applicable, or as indicated in the device's specific firmware).

6.5 Flashlight Function

The device includes a built-in flashlight. Press the 'UNIT+' button to activate or deactivate the flashlight.

6.6 Applications

The BSIDE K7 EMF Meter is suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Measuring radiation from household appliances like induction cookers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, TVs, and computers.
  • Detecting electromagnetic fields from Wi-Fi routers and other wireless devices.
  • Monitoring EMF levels in homes, offices, and living areas.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement: When the low voltage prompt appears (battery indicator shows low or voltage drops below 6.8V), replace all three AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and proper device function.
  • Drop-Proof Design: The meter features a soft glue injection molding process with high-quality ABS inside and a soft TPE outside, making it compact and drop-proof. However, avoid unnecessary drops to prolong its lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on: Check if the batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the device is not near strong magnetic fields or other sources of interference that could affect its sensors. Check battery level.
  • Buzzer alarm sounds frequently: This indicates high radiation levels. Re-position the device or move away from the source of radiation. Refer to the alarm thresholds in the specifications.
  • Display is dim or flickering: This usually indicates low battery power. Replace the batteries.

9. User Tips

  • For best results, take multiple readings in different positions around a suspected radiation source.
  • Be aware that EMF levels can fluctuate. Consider taking readings over a period of time to get an average.
  • The device measures both electric and magnetic fields. Remember that magnetic fields are often associated with current flow, while electric fields are associated with voltage.
  • When measuring, try to keep your hand and body away from the sensor area to avoid interference with readings.
