DJI Digital Video Transmitter Support

The flight controller features two independent BECs (9V 3A and 5V 2A) and supports various analog image transmissions above 5V. It also supports DJI O3 Air Unit / Link / Vista / Air Unit V1.

Cable Connection vs DJI O3 Air Unit

Use the DJI 6-pin cable (80mm) that comes with the F405 Mini stack (accessory No.6 in the package section). Cut off the 8-pin connector and keep the 6-pin connector. Use the 6-pin connector to connect to the DJI O3 Air Unit, and then solder the other end to the flight controller.

To tune your drone wirelessly:

  1. Power on your quadcopter.
  2. Connect to the SpeedyBee app on your smartphone via Bluetooth.
  3. Configure UART Ports, PID settings, OSD, and other flight controller parameters.
  4. Adjust any BLHeli_S ESC parameters as needed.

Changing Motor Directions Wirelessly

You can easily change motor directions without connecting to a computer using the SpeedyBee app.

To change motor directions:

  1. Open the SpeedyBee app.
  2. Navigate to App > Motors > Motor Direction Settings.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust motor directions.

Onboard Battery Level Indicator

The flight controller features a 4-level battery capacity indicator. Once the battery is connected, you can instantly see the battery level without needing to use FPV goggles or an external checker.

Maintenance

ESC Protection

The ESC is built with a TVS protective diode to absorb voltage spikes when plugging in the battery or during crashes that block your props. Additionally, a Rubycon 470uF Low-ESR capacitor is provided to ensure clean data from the gyroscope to the flight controller.

Clean Gyroscope Power Supply

The gyroscope receives independent power through a MaxLinear's LDO power supply chip, boosting surge protection capacity by 320%. A 100uF ultra-large filtering tantalum capacitor further guards the gyroscope's data from interference, ensuring precise responsiveness during flight.

Troubleshooting

Important Notice for ELRS Receiver

We recommend connecting the ELRS receiver's TX and RX to the T2 and R2 pads on the flight controller. However, when using the DJI Air Unit simultaneously, some ELRS receivers may not be recognized properly by the flight controller. If you encounter this issue, you need to disconnect the SBUS signal wire from the Air Unit harness. You can use tweezers to pick out the SBUS wire from the 6-pin harness connector (or directly cut this wire) and insulate the exposed part of the wire carefully.

Important Notice for SBUS Receiver

When using an SBUS receiver, the SBUS signal wire of the receiver must be connected to the SBUS pad on the front side of the flight controller (this pad internally uses UART2). If you are also using the DJI Air Unit (O3/Link/Vista/Air Unit V1), you will need to disconnect the SBUS signal wire from the Air Unit harness. Failure to do so will prevent the SBUS receiver from being properly recognized by the flight controller. You can use tweezers to pick out the SBUS wire from the 6-pin harness connector (or directly cut this wire) and insulate the exposed part of the wire carefully.
