1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for replacing the touch screen digitizer on your 10.1-inch Teclast P40S tablet. It is designed to guide you through the installation process, ensuring proper functionality and care for your new screen. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning the installation.

2. Package Contents

Your package should contain the following item:

• 1 x Touch Screen Digitizer (P40S Touch Cover or TOUCH and LCD, depending on selection)

Please inspect the screen upon arrival for any visible damage. If the screen is broken, refer to the troubleshooting section.

Important Note on Compatibility: Touch part codes update frequently. The replacement screen provided is guaranteed to be compatible with your tablet PC. If you require an exact matching code, please consider this before purchase.

Before proceeding, ensure your tablet is powered off and disconnected from any power source. It is recommended to watch a relevant video tutorial for your specific tablet model (Teclast P40S) before attempting installation.

1. Identify the Problem:
   • If the touch screen is damaged or unresponsive, but the LCD display shows images normally, you need to replace the touch screen.
   • If the LCD display shows lines or black spots, even if the touch screen is undamaged, you need to replace the LCD display (this product is a touch screen, not an LCD).
2. Prepare Your Workspace: Ensure you have a clean, well-lit area and the necessary tools (small screwdrivers, plastic prying tools, heat gun/hair dryer if adhesive is present).
3. Disassembly Steps (Refer to Figure 3):
   • Remove the Chuck Cover: Carefully pry off any protective covers or bezels.
   • Unscrew the Screws: Locate and remove all screws securing the back cover.
   • Remove the Back Cover: Gently separate the back cover from the tablet chassis using a plastic prying tool.
4. Disconnect Cables (Refer to Figure 3):
   • Identify and carefully disconnect the LCD Display cable number and the touch screen cable number from the main board.
   • Also, disconnect the Switch key cable number and any other relevant cables like the Volume button cable.
   • Note the Main Board Connecting LCD Display Cable number for reassembly.
5. Remove Old Touch Screen: Once all cables are disconnected and the tablet is open, carefully remove the old touch screen. This may involve heating adhesive to loosen it.
6. Test the New Screen (Crucial Step):
   • DO NOT use adhesive to install the new screen yet.
   • Connect the new touch screen's ribbon cable to the main board.
   • Temporarily reassemble enough components to power on the tablet.
   • Test all touch functions thoroughly across the entire screen. Ensure there are no dead spots, ghost touches, or other anomalies.
7. Final Installation:
   • If the new screen functions perfectly during testing, power off the tablet.
   • Carefully apply new adhesive (if required, not included) to secure the new touch screen in place.
   • Reconnect all cables (touch screen, LCD, switch keys, etc.).
   • Reattach the back cover and secure it with screws.
   • Replace any chuck covers or bezels.

5. Operation

Once successfully installed, your new touch screen will function identically to the original. Power on your tablet and use it as normal. The capacitive screen supports multi-touch gestures as per your tablet's operating system capabilities.

6. Care and Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a screen cleaner specifically designed for electronics. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture.
• Protection: Consider using a screen protector to prevent scratches and minor impacts.
• Handling: Avoid applying excessive pressure to the screen. Do not drop the tablet.
• Temperature: Do not expose the tablet to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues after installation, please follow these steps:

• Screen Not Working:
  • Verify Model Number: Double-check that the model number of your tablet matches the product description (Teclast P40S BL-JT101WXL036-B01). Incorrect model screens will not function.
  • Check Connections: Ensure all ribbon cables (touch screen, LCD, etc.) are securely and correctly seated in their connectors on the main board.
  • Testing Video: If the screen is un-working, create a video demonstrating the issue and contact customer support.
• Broken Screen Upon Arrival:
  • Unpacking Video: If the screen arrives broken, immediately create an unpacking video showing the condition of the package and the damaged screen. Contact customer support with this video.
• Adhesive Warning: If you have already used adhesive to install the screen before confirming it works perfectly, returns or refunds may not be accepted. Always test first.

8. User Tips

• Always handle the screen by its edges to avoid damaging the display area or ribbon cables.
• Work in a static-free environment to prevent damage to sensitive electronic components.
• Keep track of all screws and small parts during disassembly and reassembly.
