5. Setup

5.1. Assembly

  1. Mounting the Print Head: Secure the print head(s) to the desired position using the provided installation kit and stents. The system supports single, double, or four print heads for increased printing height (up to 50.8mm with splicing assembly).
  2. Connecting Cables: Connect the print head(s) to the main controller unit using the connecting cables. Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Sensor Installation: Install the photoelectric sensor and encoder (if applicable) to detect the product and synchronize printing. Connect them to the designated I/O interfaces on the controller.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the controller and plug it into a suitable power outlet (100-240V AC input).
  5. Optional Peripherals: If using, connect a computer for simultaneous control via USB or an external display via HDMI.

5.2. Ink Cartridge Installation

  1. Open the print head cover.
  2. Carefully insert the ink cartridge into the designated slot until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the print head cover.

6.1. Power On and Interface Overview

  1. Press the power button to turn on the printer. The touch screen will display the main interface.
  2. The main interface typically includes options for Text, Picture, Barcode, Date, Counter, Delete, and File management.

6.2. Creating and Editing Print Content

  1. Text: Select 'Text' to enter alphanumeric characters. Use the on-screen keyboard (compatible with universal code) to input your message.
  2. Date/Time: Select 'Date' to insert current date and time. Formats can usually be customized in settings.
  3. Serial Number/Counter: Select 'Counter' or 'Serial Number' to add automatic incrementing numbers.
  4. Barcodes/QR Codes: Select 'Barcode' to generate various barcode types (GTIN, UPC, CODE128, QR Code, etc.). Input the data to be encoded.
  5. Pictures/Logos: Select 'Picture' to import images (BMP, JPG, PNG formats supported). Images can be imported via USB.
  6. Database Printing: For variable data printing, prepare your data in a TXT file on a USB flash drive. Insert the USB drive into the printer and use the 'File' or 'Database' option to import and link the data for printing.

6.3. Printing Operation

  1. Adjust Printing Parameters: Set printing height (2-12.7mm, 2-25.4mm, or 2-50.8mm depending on model and configuration), printing distance (2-5mm recommended), and printing direction (normal, X reverse, Y reverse, XY reverse).
  2. Start Printing: Once content is prepared and parameters are set, initiate printing. The printer will synchronize with the product movement via the sensor.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Ink Cartridge Care

After using the machine, it is crucial to remove the ink cartridge and place it in its protective clip. This prevents the ink from drying out and damaging the cartridge, ensuring longevity and consistent print quality.

7.2. Cleaning

  • Regularly wipe the print head nozzle with a lint-free cloth and appropriate cleaning solution to prevent clogs.
  • Keep the touch screen and exterior of the printer clean using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Operate the printer within the specified working environment to ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Humidity: 40%-60% (PW MAX), 10%-80% (DW100)

  • Poor Print Quality: Check ink cartridge levels. Ensure the print head nozzle is clean and free from clogs. Verify printing distance is within the recommended 2-5mm.

  • Data Transfer Issues (USB): Ensure the USB drive is properly formatted and the file types (e.g., TXT for database, BMP/JPG/PNG for images) are supported.
  • Incorrect Printing Position: Adjust the physical mounting of the print head and the settings for printing direction (normal, X reverse, Y reverse, XY reverse). Calibrate the sensor if necessary.

  • Optimal Printing Distance: For best results, maintain a printing distance of 2-5mm between the print head and the object.
