1. Introduction

The JUNCTEK JDS8000 series dual-channel function/arbitrary waveform generator is a versatile instrument designed for various electronic applications. Featuring a 2.8-inch high-definition color screen and soft silicone keys, it can generate sine, square, triangle, pulse, and arbitrary waveforms, as well as DC signals. This device incorporates advanced functions such as waveform modulation, burst, pulse width digital adjustment, frequency scanning, amplitude scanning, duty cycle scanning, and VCO voltage control scanning. It also includes a built-in frequency meter and counter. The JDS8000 series is ideal for electronic enthusiasts, scientific research, educational purposes, and product development and debugging.

2. Product Features

5. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the signal generator and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC power socket on the rear panel of the instrument and then to a suitable AC power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.
  3. Grounding: For safety and optimal performance, connect the ground terminal on the rear panel to a reliable earth ground using a suitable grounding cable.
  4. Initial Power On: Flip the power switch to the ON position. The device should power on and display the startup screen.
  5. Output Connection: Connect the BNC output connectors (CH1, CH2) to your desired load (e.g., oscilloscope, circuit under test) using the provided Q9-Q9 direct line or clip cables.
  6. PC Connection (Optional): If using PC software for control or arbitrary waveform generation, connect the USB data cable from the instrument's communication interface to your computer.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Waveform Generation

  1. Press the WAVE shortcut key to select the desired waveform type (Sine, Square, Triangle, Pulse, Arbitrary, DC).
  2. Use the knob and direction keys to adjust parameters such as frequency, amplitude, offset, and duty cycle for the selected waveform.
  3. Press CH1 or CH2 to enable/disable output for the respective channel.

  2. Select the parameter to sweep (Frequency, Amplitude, or Duty Cycle).
  3. Set the start frequency/amplitude/duty cycle, end frequency/amplitude/duty cycle, sweep time, and sweep mode (linear/logarithmic).
  4. Enable the sweep function for the desired channel.

6.4 VCO Voltage Control Scanning

Control output parameters using an external voltage signal.

  1. Press the VCO shortcut key.
  2. Configure the VCO mode and calibration settings.
  3. Apply an external voltage signal to the EXT input.
