1. Introduction

The HTI HT-1201 is a portable digital split-type vibrometer designed for measuring conventional vibration of mechanical equipment. It utilizes a piezoceramic acceleration sensor to accurately measure vibration speed, acceleration, and displacement. 4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The HT-1201 requires 3 AA batteries for operation. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery box at the back of the main unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Probe Attachment

The device comes with a detachable probe. To attach the probe:

  1. Connect the probe cable to the host interface port on the main unit.
  2. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
  3. Depending on your measurement needs, you can select either a short (S) or long (L) probe.

5. Operation

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Press the (Power) button to turn on the device. The LCD screen will illuminate.
  2. Attach the probe firmly to the surface of the equipment you wish to measure.
  3. The device will automatically begin measuring vibration.
  4. To turn off the device, press and hold the (Power) button until the screen turns off. The device also features an automatic power-off after 4 minutes of inactivity.

5.2 Changing Measurement Units

  • To switch between Acceleration (m/s²), Speed (mm/s), and Displacement (mm) units, press the (Down Arrow) key.
  • To switch the temperature unit between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the (Up Arrow) key.

5.3 Backlight and Max Value Hold

  • Press the Enter key to activate or deactivate the display backlight.
  • To hold the maximum measured value on the screen, press the Esc/Max key. Press it again to exit Max Hold mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the casing or screen. Ensure no liquids enter the device.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in a dry place with a temperature between -20℃ and 60℃ and humidity between 20%RH and 90%RH (non-condensing).

The device comes with a plastic box for safe storage and transport.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your HTI HT-1201, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device does not power on:
    • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new AA batteries.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Ensure the probe is securely attached to the host interface.
    • Verify that the probe is making firm contact with the surface being measured.
    • Check for any visible damage to the probe or cable.
  • Display is dim or not working:
    • Press the 'Enter' key to activate the backlight.
    • Check battery level; low batteries can affect display brightness.
