  • IL-NT-AMF8 (models 9, 20, 25, 26)
  • IC-NT-MINT

2. Setup and Installation

The installation of the LCD display screen requires careful handling. It is recommended that this procedure be performed by a qualified technician.

2.1 Safety Precautions

  • Always disconnect power to the COMAP controller and the generator system before beginning any installation or maintenance.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Avoid touching the screen surface directly with bare hands to prevent smudges or damage.
  • Handle the ribbon cable and connectors with extreme care to avoid bending or breaking pins.

2.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Controller: Ensure the COMAP controller is powered off and disconnected from all power sources.
  2. Access the Display Area: Carefully open the controller housing or access panel to expose the existing display screen and its connections.
  3. Disconnect Old Screen: Gently disconnect the ribbon cable and any other power/data connectors from the old LCD screen. Note their orientation for re-installation.
  4. Remove Old Screen: Unfasten any screws, clips, or adhesive holding the old screen in place and carefully remove it.
  5. Install New Screen: Position the new COMAP LCD display screen into the designated slot. Ensure it fits securely.
  6. Connect New Screen: Carefully connect the ribbon cable to the appropriate port on the new LCD screen and the controller board. Ensure the connection is firm and correctly oriented. Connect any other power/data connectors.
  7. Secure New Screen: Fasten the new screen using the original screws, clips, or adhesive, ensuring it is stable and properly aligned.
  8. Close Controller: Reassemble the controller housing or close the access panel.

3. Operating Instructions

The COMAP LCD display screen functions as a visual output component for your COMAP generator controller. Its operation is entirely integrated with the controller's firmware and user interface.

  • Display Information: The screen will automatically display operational data, status messages, alarms, and menu options as dictated by the connected COMAP controller.
  • Interaction: All user interaction (e.g., navigating menus, acknowledging alarms, changing settings) is performed via the buttons and controls on the COMAP controller itself, not directly on the LCD screen.
  • Power On/Off: The display screen powers on and off with the COMAP controller.

Refer to your specific COMAP controller's user manual for detailed operating instructions related to its functions and display content.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your LCD display screen.

  • Cleaning: To clean the screen, gently wipe it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive screen cleaner. Never spray liquid directly onto the screen.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the screen surface.
  • Protection: Protect the screen from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and physical impact.
  • Connections: Periodically inspect the ribbon cable and connectors for any signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Ensure all connections remain secure.
