4. Installation
The EKM3-63 MCB is designed for easy installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Follow these steps:
- Power Disconnection: Ensure that the main power supply to the circuit is completely disconnected before beginning installation. Verify with a voltage tester.
- Mounting: Align the MCB with the 35mm DIN rail. Use the adjustable buckle mechanism: one pull and one press to snap the MCB securely onto the rail.
- Wiring: Connect the incoming and outgoing electrical wires to the designated connecting terminals. The terminals are located at the top and bottom of the MCB. Ensure that the wire size does not exceed 25mm² and that all connections are tightened to a maximum torque of 2.5 N.m. Refer to Figure 5 for terminal locations.
- Verification: Double-check all connections for tightness and correct polarity.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit.

5. Operating Instructions
The EKM3-63 MCB features a simple ON/OFF operation with a visual indicator for status.
- Turning ON: Push the handle upwards to the 'ON' position. The indicator window will show RED, indicating the circuit is connected and energized.
- Turning OFF: Push the handle downwards to the 'OFF' position. The indicator window will show GREEN, indicating the circuit is disconnected and de-energized.
- Tripping: In case of an overcurrent or short circuit, the MCB will automatically trip to the 'OFF' position, and the indicator will show GREEN. This rapid power outage protects your electrical system.

6. Maintenance
The EKM3-63 MCB requires minimal maintenance. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check the MCB for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Keep the MCB clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Terminal Tightness: Occasionally check the tightness of the terminal screws, especially after initial installation and during routine electrical system checks.
- Functionality Test: If possible, periodically test the trip mechanism by using a dedicated test button (if available on your model) or by simulating an overload under controlled conditions (only by a qualified professional).
7. Troubleshooting
If your EKM3-63 MCB trips or does not operate as expected, consider the following:
- MCB Trips Frequently:
- Overload: The circuit may be drawing too much current. Disconnect some appliances or devices from the circuit.
- Short Circuit: A short circuit may exist in the wiring or an appliance. Inspect the wiring and connected devices for faults.
- Faulty Appliance: An appliance connected to the circuit might be defective. Disconnect appliances one by one to identify the faulty one.
- Incorrect Rating: Ensure the MCB's rated current matches the circuit's requirements. An undersized MCB will trip frequently.
- MCB Does Not Reset:
- Persistent Fault: The fault (overload or short circuit) may still be present. Do not force the handle to the ON position. Identify and clear the fault first.
- Internal Damage: If no fault is found and the MCB still won't reset, it may be internally damaged and needs replacement.
- MCB Feels Hot:
- Overload: The circuit is overloaded.
- Loose Connections: Check terminal tightness. Loose connections can cause resistance and heat buildup.
If you are unable to resolve the issue, consult a qualified electrician.
8. User Tips
- Select Correct Amperage: Always ensure you choose an MCB with the appropriate rated current (e.g., 16A, 25A, 40A, 63A) for your specific circuit to prevent nuisance tripping or inadequate protection.
- Pole Configuration: Verify the required number of poles (e.g., 3P for three-phase systems) for your application before purchase and installation.
