Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Probe: The probe is IP67-rated waterproof, making it suitable for wet and oily environments. After use, gently wipe the probe with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn grime, a mild detergent can be used, followed by a clean water rinse and thorough drying. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, especially if it will be stored for an extended period.
  • Storage: Always store the borescope and its accessories in the provided portable carrying case to protect it from dust, impacts, and environmental damage.
  • Temperature Monitoring: The probe has a built-in smart temperature sensor to prevent overheating. If the temperature exceeds 70°C (158°F), a warning will appear. If it reaches 80°C (176°F), the device will automatically shut down to prevent damage. The normal working temperature range is 40-50°C (104-122°F).

Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source and try again. If the issue persists, contact support.
  • No image on screen: Check if the probe is securely connected. Ensure the device is in live view mode.
  • Probe not articulating: Verify that the probe joystick is functioning correctly. Ensure there are no physical obstructions preventing articulation.
  • Cannot transfer files to PC: Ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected to both the borescope and the computer. Check if the computer recognizes the device as a removable drive. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • Image quality is poor: Adjust the LED brightness. Clean the camera lens on the probe tip. Ensure the object is within the optimal depth of field (3-8 cm).

User Tips

  • Maximize Articulation: The 2-way articulation is a key feature. Practice using the joystick to fully utilize its 210° range for navigating complex internal structures and getting the best viewing angle.
  • Optimal Lighting: Always adjust the LED brightness to suit the environment. Too much light can cause glare, while too little will obscure details. Experiment with the three brightness levels.
  • Focus Distance: For the clearest images, ensure the object you are inspecting is within the optimal depth of field of 3-8 cm (0.9-3.2 inches).
  • Probe Diameter: The 5.5mm probe is very thin, making it ideal for tight spaces. Always confirm the opening size before inserting the probe to avoid damage.
  • Regular Cleaning: Even though the probe is waterproof, regular cleaning after each use, especially in dirty or oily conditions, will maintain image clarity and prolong the life of the device.
