  • Power Input: Connect a DC 10V-30V power supply to the green terminal block labeled 'DC24V, 3.5W'. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Serial Communication (COM1): Use the DB9 port for RS232, RS485, or RS422 communication. Refer to your system's wiring diagram for specific pin assignments.
  • USB Ports:
    • Micro-USB: For program download and configuration using a USB cable.
    • USB-A Host Port: For connecting USB flash drives for data import/export or system upgrades.

4.3 Software Installation

The WS-043AP HMI is programmed using the WINSUNZK HMI_Setup_V3.1 configuration software. Install this software on your PC to create and upload HMI projects. The software and related files can be downloaded from the official website: http://www.winsunzk.cn/en/file?type=1.

5. Operation

5.1 Powering On

Once all connections are secure, apply power to the HMI. The PWR indicator light on the front panel should illuminate. The HMI will boot up and display the configured interface.

5.2 Touch Screen Interaction

The WS-043AP features a resistance touch screen. Use a finger or a stylus to interact with the on-screen elements such as buttons, input fields, and navigation menus.

5.3 Program Download and Updates

To update the HMI's program or firmware:

  1. Connect the HMI to your PC using a micro-USB cable.
  2. Open the WINSUNZK HMI_Setup_V3.1 software.
  3. Load your HMI project and follow the software instructions to download the program to the device.
  4. Alternatively, use a USB flash drive for upgrades by loading the update files onto the drive and inserting it into the USB-A host port on the HMI.

5.4 Data Management

The USB-A host port allows for importing and exporting data, such as log files, recipes, or configuration settings, using a compatible USB flash drive.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display surface. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the HMI operates within the specified working temperature (-20 ~ 60°C) and storage humidity (10 - 90%RH) to prolong its lifespan.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Power Supply: Use a stable DC 10V-30V power supply to prevent damage from voltage fluctuations.

7. Troubleshooting

HMI does not power on:
Check the power supply connection and ensure it is within the DC 10V-30V range. Verify correct polarity. Inspect the power cable for damage.
Touch screen is unresponsive:
Ensure the screen is clean and free from debris. Restart the HMI. If the issue persists, recalibration might be necessary via the configuration software.
Communication issues with PLC/controller:
Verify serial port wiring (RS232/RS485/RS422) and baud rate settings in both the HMI and the connected device. Check for proper protocol configuration in the HMI software.
Program download fails:
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected and recognized by the PC. Verify that the HMI_Setup_V3.1 software is correctly installed and the project is valid. Try using a different USB port or cable.
Display is dim or flickering:
Check the power supply stability. Ensure the HMI is operating within its specified temperature range. If the issue persists, contact support.

8. User Tips

  • Backup Projects: Always back up your HMI projects and configurations regularly to prevent data loss.
  • Test Connections: Before powering on, double-check all wiring connections to avoid short circuits or damage.
  • Software Familiarity: Take time to familiarize yourself with the WINSUNZK HMI_Setup_V3.1 software for efficient project development and troubleshooting.
  • Environmental Control: For critical applications, consider installing the HMI in an enclosure that provides additional protection against dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
