4. Troubleshooting

Many issues with Android devices can be resolved by checking connections or settings. If you encounter a problem, please review the following common solutions before seeking further assistance.

Troubleshooting guide for camera and Canbus issues

Image: Visual guide for troubleshooting camera and Canbus issues.

4.1 Common Issues & Solutions

  • Battery Drain: If the radio drains the car battery, ensure the Canbus is correctly connected and configured. Incorrect wiring can keep the unit partially active, leading to battery discharge. Verify the power cable connection as shown in the installation section.
  • Steering Wheel Controls Not Working:
    • Check if the Canbus box is correctly connected (refer to installation diagrams).
    • Perform the SWC learning procedure detailed in Section 2.10.
  • Rear View Camera No Signal / Not Working:
    • Verify all camera wiring connections (Red cable to back light +, Black cable to GND, Brown reverse detection cable).
    • Go to Factory Settings (password often 1234) and check the camera type configuration. Reset the radio after changing settings.
  • Radio Reception Poor During Movement: Check the radio antenna connection. Ensure it is securely attached. If the issue persists, an external antenna might be needed.
  • Unit Not Turning Off with Car: This is often related to incorrect power wiring or Canbus configuration. Ensure the power cable is connected to an ignition-switched power source, not a constant one. Re-check Canbus connections.
  • Microphone Quality for Calls is Poor: Consider purchasing and connecting an external microphone if the built-in microphone is insufficient. Check the unit's specifications for external microphone input options.
  • Touch Screen Issues: If the touch screen is unresponsive or inaccurate, try restarting the unit. If the problem persists, check for software updates or perform a factory reset.
  • Volume Too Loud on Startup: Check system settings for default volume levels or startup volume options.
  • GPS/Maps Only Work with Phone GPS: Ensure the external GPS antenna is properly connected and positioned for optimal signal reception. Verify that the unit's internal GPS is enabled in settings.
  • Bluetooth Unpairing: If Bluetooth frequently disconnects, try re-pairing the device. Ensure the unit's Bluetooth module is functioning correctly and there are no conflicting devices.
  • FM Stations Not Remembered: This can indicate a power retention issue. Ensure the constant power (B+) wire is correctly connected to maintain memory presets.
  • Configuration/Reset Code: Common factory settings passwords include "1234" or "5678". If these do not work, consult the seller.
  • How to Change Startup Logo: This option is usually found within the factory settings menu.
  • How to Configure LED Light of Physical Buttons: Check the system settings or display settings for options to customize button backlighting.

8. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: My radio asks for a code to configure. Where do I get it from?
A: Common codes for factory settings are 1234 or 5678. If these do not work, please contact the seller for the specific code for your unit.
Q: My car's battery is draining quickly. How can I fix this?
A: This is often due to incorrect wiring, particularly the constant power (B+) and ignition wires, or an improperly configured Canbus. Re-check all power connections and ensure the Canbus is correctly installed to prevent the unit from drawing power when the car is off.
Q: The steering wheel controls do not work. What should I do?
A: First, ensure your Canbus box is correctly connected. Then, go to the "Car Settings" menu and perform the "SWC learning" procedure as described in Section 2.10.
Q: My rear view camera shows "No signal" or doesn't work.
A: Verify all camera wiring connections, especially the reverse detection cable. Then, access the "Factory Settings" (common password: 1234) and check the camera type configuration. You may need to reset the radio after making changes.
Q: How can I change the startup logo?
A: The option to change the startup logo is typically found within the "Factory Settings" menu. You may need a specific password to access this section.
Q: How do I configure the LED light of the physical buttons?
A: Look for options related to button backlighting or display settings within the main system settings menu.
Q: Does the 2GB+32GB version support wireless Android Auto?
A: Yes, the 2GB+32GB versions typically support both wireless Carplay and Android Auto, as indicated in the product features.
Q: How can I connect an external microphone to the unit?
A: The unit usually has a dedicated 3.5mm microphone input port. You can plug in a compatible external microphone there.
Q: My radio does not remember FM stations after a long stop.
A: This indicates an issue with the constant power supply to the unit, which is responsible for retaining memory. Ensure the yellow B+ wire is correctly connected to a constant 12V source.
