The HDMI EDID Manager easily resolves compatibility issues between source devices (such as computers, Blu-ray players, and game consoles) and display devices (such as monitors, TVs, and projectors) through 8 preset EDID modes and EDID cloning functionality. It supports resolutions up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 HDR and HDCP 2.3, ensuring crisp, smooth visuals with stable audio-video synchronization. It is ideal for diverse applications including multimedia system integration, conference rooms, home theaters, digital signage displays, and KVM switches.

5. Panel Description

Front Panel

  • COPY Button: Press this recessed button to initiate reading and storing an EDID.
  • HDMI IN: HDMI input port for connecting source devices.
  • DC 5V: Power input port for connecting the 5V USB power cable.

Rear Panel

  • PW (Power LED): Lights up when an external power supply is connected and powered.
  • COPY (EDID Store LED): Blinks when the unit is reading and storing EDID from a connected output device.
  • SIG (Signal LED): Lights up when an HDMI signal is detected on the input and output.
  • HDMI OUT: HDMI output port for connecting display devices.
  • EDID (DIP Switch): A 3-way DIP switch that provides a choice of 7 pre-programmed EDID modes and 1 user-stored mode.

6. Setup and Connection

Before powering on, ensure all connection lines are carefully checked and all interfaces are normally connected. It is recommended to connect devices with power disconnected to prevent electrostatic damage.

  1. Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., laptop, TV box, Blu-Ray DVD, PC) to the HDMI IN port of the EDID Manager using a high-quality HDMI cable.
  2. Connect your HDMI display device (e.g., HD TV, Projector) to the HDMI OUT port of the EDID Manager using a high-quality HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the provided 5V USB Power Cable to the DC 5V port on the EDID Manager and then to a suitable USB power source.
  4. Power on all connected devices. The PW LED on the EDID Manager should light up. The SIG LED will light up when an HDMI signal is detected.

7. Operation

7.1 EDID Mode Selection

The 3-way DIP switch on the rear panel allows you to select from 7 pre-programmed EDID modes or store a copy of your display's EDID. Refer to the table below for switch positions and corresponding resolutions.

7.2 EDID Copy Function

To copy the EDID from your display device:

  1. Ensure the EDID Manager is connected to your display device via the HDMI OUT port.
  2. Set the DIP switch to position '111' (Store Slot 1).
  3. Press the recessed COPY button on the front panel. The COPY LED will blink, indicating that the unit is reading and storing the EDID from the connected display.
  4. Once the LED stops blinking, the EDID is successfully stored.

7.3 Reset to Default

To reset the EDID Emulator to its default state, press and hold the COPY button while applying power. As power is applied, the front panel COPY LED will blink 3 times, indicating a successful reset.

If signals are unstable, check HDMI cable quality and length. 4K60Hz resolution requires devices supporting HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.3.

9. Care and Safety Guidelines

To ensure the long lifespan and optimal performance of your HDMI EDID Manager, please follow these guidelines:

  • Place the machine in a location far from dampness, high temperatures, dust, erosive substances, and oxidative environments.
  • Ensure all parts are free from strong shakes, hits, or falls.
  • Do not touch the power adapter with wet hands.
  • When disconnecting the adapter from the socket, always hold the power adapter head; do not pull the adapter cord.
  • If you do not use the device for a long time, please turn off the power.
  • Do not open the cover or touch the inside parts of the device.
  • Always use the original factory power adapter provided with the device.

10. User Tips

  • When experiencing display issues, try cycling through the different EDID modes using the DIP switch before attempting other troubleshooting steps.
  • For optimal 4K@60Hz HDR performance, ensure all HDMI cables in your setup are certified Premium High Speed HDMI cables.
  • If you frequently switch between different displays, consider using the EDID copy function (DIP switch '111') to store the EDID of your primary display for quick and consistent setup.
