3. Operating Instructions

After installation, the beacon automatically enters broadcasting mode. Use a Bluetooth-enabled device to search for the beacon signal and verify signal strength and broadcasting stability.

The Holyiot-beacon APP allows for configuration and monitoring of the device. Follow these general steps:

  1. Download the APP: Search and download "Holyiot-beacon" from your device's APP store.
  2. Scan for Devices: Open the APP and search for nearby Bluetooth devices. The APP can display devices in Beacon, iBeacon, or Eddystone mode.
  3. Connect to Device: Select your Holyiot beacon from the list. You may need to enter a password (default: aa14061112 or 8888) to connect.
  4. Configure Parameters: Once connected, you can modify various parameters such as password, Major, Minor, MAC address, UUID, Name, TX power, and advertising interval (ADV_interval).
  5. Monitor Data: The APP displays real-time data from the beacon's sensors, including Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, Shake (vibration detection), Button State, and Battery level.
  6. Switch Beacon Type: The APP allows you to switch the beacon's operating mode between Beacon, iBeacon, and Eddystone. Note that Android phones may not support switching between beacon types; an iPhone may be required for this operation.

5. Maintenance

  • Environment: The product must be used in a clean, dry environment, free from strong interference.
  • Temperature and Humidity: Adhere to the specified working temperature (-20°C ~ 60°C) and humidity ranges. Avoid extreme conditions unless the product's IP67 rating is specifically for that environment.
  • Handling: This is a precision electronic component. Avoid violent impact, dropping, or disassembly, as this can damage the internal circuit structure.
  • Disposal: When discarding the product, please sort and recycle it in accordance with local electronic waste disposal regulations to prevent environmental pollution.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Signal/Unstable Connection: The actual communication distance can vary due to obstructions, electromagnetic interference, environmental humidity, and the performance of supporting equipment. Ensure the installation position is carefully planned for optimal communication quality.
  • Device Not Functioning: Ensure the product is used within its specified working voltage range (2.0-3.6V). Using it beyond this range can cause damage, short circuits, or fire risks.
  • Damage During Setup: Always perform installation, disassembly, and wiring operations when the power is off to prevent electric shock or product failure.
  • Inaccurate Readings/Shortened Life: Avoid using the product in extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, or corrosive gas environments unless it has a clearly stated protection level (e.g., IP67) for such conditions.
  • Physical Damage: The product is a precision electronic component. Avoid violent impact, dropping, or unauthorized disassembly, which can damage the internal circuit structure and cause product failure.

7. User Tips

  • Semi-Finished Product: This beacon is a semi-finished product. The factory-provided program is primarily for testing hardware functionality. For specific application scenarios, users are expected to write and burn their own corresponding firmware programs.
  • Child Safety: Keep the product out of reach of children to prevent accidental operation or ingestion of small components, which could lead to safety accidents.
  • APP Compatibility: While the APP supports various configurations, some functions like switching beacon types might require an iPhone for operation, as Android devices may not fully support these changes.
