Setup Guide
1. Phone Compatibility
The HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer is designed to work with most smartphones. Ensure your phone meets the following specifications:
- Width: Between 55mm and 85mm
- Thickness: Less than 8.2mm
- Weight: Less than 260g

2. Mounting Your Smartphone
- Gently pull open the phone clip on the gimbal.
- Carefully insert your smartphone into the clip, ensuring it is centered and securely held.
- Important: Always place your mobile phone in the center of the clip *before* turning on the HQ3 Gimbal. Failure to do so may cause abnormal vibration or shaking.
3. Charging the Gimbal
The HQ3 has a built-in 2200mAh Li-battery. To charge:
- Connect the provided USB charging cable (USB-A to Type-C) to the gimbal's charging port.
- Connect the other end to a 5V1A power adapter (not included).
- Note: Cables with Type-C at both ends cannot be used for charging.

4. Bluetooth Pairing
The HQ3 uses Bluetooth 5.0 for communication and remote control.
- Turn on the HQ3 Gimbal.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- Search for Bluetooth devices and select "HQ3 + Last 4 serial number" to pair.
- Once paired, the gimbal is ready for one-key operation.

Operating Modes
The HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer features a 3-axis anti-vibration system to ensure stable shooting and live broadcasting. It supports various modes for different shooting scenarios.

1. Horizontal and Vertical Shooting
Freely switch between horizontal and vertical shooting modes to meet the needs of various video platforms. This allows for versatile content creation.

Figure 7: Stable horizontal and vertical shooting.
2. Pan Following Mode (PF)
In this mode, the tilt axis and roll axis maintain their direction, while the lens rotates with the direction of the handle. Ideal for smooth panning shots.

Figure 8: Pan Following Mode (PF).
3. Horizontal Lock Mode (HL)
The roll axis remains horizontal, and the lens rotates in the direction of the handle. This mode is useful for maintaining a level horizon while moving the camera.

Figure 9: Horizontal Lock Mode (HL).
4. FPV First Person View (FPV)
The lens follows the projection direction of the handle, simulating a first-person visual effect. This mode is great for immersive shots.

5. Global Lock (GL)
Press and hold the trigger button to enter into full lock under PF/HL mode. This locks all axes, keeping the camera fixed in one direction.

6. Manual Lock
To manually lock an angle, hold the mobile phone clip by hand and pull it to the desired angle in the tilt direction. Hold it for half a second to lock the current angle.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HQ3 Gimbal Stabilizer, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the gimbal. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the gimbal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The foldable design makes it easy to carry and store.
- Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50-60% every three months to prevent deep discharge.
Troubleshooting
1. Gimbal Shaking or Vibrating with Electric Sound
Cause: This usually occurs if the mobile phone is not placed in the center of the clip *before* turning on the HQ3 Gimbal, or if the gimbal is turned on without a phone attached.
Solution: Always ensure your mobile phone is securely and centrally placed in the clip before powering on the gimbal. Do not release the handle if you are not using a tripod to stand, as this is an incorrect usage method.
2. Gimbal Not Charging
Cause: Incorrect charging cable used.
Solution: Use the USB cable provided with the HQ3 (USB-A to Type-C) or another cable with a USB-A connector on one end and a Type-C connector on the other. Cables with Type-C connectors at both ends are not compatible for charging this device.
3. Joystick Suddenly Stops Working
Cause: The gimbal has reached its limit angle and activated a self-protection mechanism to protect internal current. This can happen if the gimbal is tilted significantly (e.g., 30 degrees forward) and the phone lens is pointed sharply up or down.
Solution: This is a normal self-protection phenomenon. To restore functionality, hold the HQ3 upright (not in a tilted state) and gently shake the phone slightly with your hand. The joystick should resume normal operation.
