The IMOU Cruiser SE+ camera is designed for outdoor use and can be installed in various locations. Choose a mounting location that provides the desired field of view and strong Wi-Fi signal.
- Wall Mounted: Secure the camera directly to a wall using the provided mounting bracket and screws.
- Pole Mounted: Attach the camera to a pole using appropriate straps or clamps (not included) with the mounting bracket.
- Ceiling Mounted: The camera can also be mounted to a ceiling or overhang.

4.2 Power Connection
Connect the camera to a power source using the provided power adapter. Ensure the power outlet is within reach and protected from the elements.
4.3 App Setup (Imou Life App)
To set up and operate your camera, you will need the Imou Life app:
- Download the App: Scan the QR code on the Quick Start Guide or search for "Imou Life" in Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) to download and install the app.
- Register Account: Run the Imou Life App and register an account for first-time use.
- Connect Power: Connect the camera to a power source with the power adapter.
- Wait for Booting: Wait for the camera to finish booting. The camera indicator light will flash green when ready.
- Add Camera: Follow the in-app instructions to add your camera. If you have multiple cameras, add them one by one. If your Wi-Fi network has changed or the indicator status is incorrect, reset the camera and repeat step 5.

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 SD Card vs. Cloud Storage
Q: What is the difference between SD memory card and cloud storage?
A:
- Using an SD card requires you to use a computer to read the history monitoring screen. When the memory card is full, it will automatically delete old recordings and start a new round. Ensure you save important data in time.
- Cloud storage is a value-added service. New devices typically come with a 7-day free trial period of cloud storage, allowing you to view history monitoring directly in the app. After the trial, you can subscribe in the app. Records are automatically deleted after 3 or 7 days (depending on the plan), so save data in time.
7.2 App "Failed to Bind"
Q: The app says "Failed to bind"?
A: If the app displays "Failed to bind," it means your device is already successfully connected to your Wi-Fi but failed to add to your Imou account. Double-check if your router is connected to the internet and try again. This issue often occurs due to an unstable internet connection.
7.3 Changing Wi-Fi / New Location
Q: I changed my Wi-Fi, or I want to put the camera at a new location. How do I connect my camera to my new Wi-Fi?
A:
- First, check if your camera has an Ethernet port and if you have an Ethernet cable.
- If yes, power on your camera and connect it to your router with the Ethernet cable. Wait until the LED turns solid blue, indicating internet access. Then, log in to your Imou account, find your IPC on the "Device" page, go to its settings, tap "Wi-Fi Config," and connect to your new Wi-Fi.
- If your camera has no Ethernet port or you don't have a cable, we recommend resetting your camera to factory default and then setting it up with the new Wi-Fi.
7.4 Receiving Alarm Messages
Q: How can I receive alarm messages?
A:
- First, click the enable button in the upper right corner of the channel picture on the main page of the app.
- If it says "Failed to subscribe," ensure the following configurations:
- Enable Imou Notifications via your phone's Settings -> Notifications and in the Imou APP via "Me" -> "Settings" -> "Notice."
- Enable the relevant event in the device settings. For example, for motion detection, ensure the event is enabled and the time schedule is valid.
- Make sure the device is connected to the internet.
- After successfully subscribing, you will receive messages.
7.5 Black Image at Night
Q: Working at night, the image is all black?
A:
Reason:
- IR LED didn’t light up.
- ICR didn’t switch to night mode.
- Objects are too far away from the camera.
Solution:
- If the IR LED did light up, but you cannot hear “KA” and the image is still all black, there might be something wrong with the ICR.
- For consumer cameras, the IR distance is typically less than 10m (this can differ between models), so you might not see objects too far away at night.
8. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For best Wi-Fi signal and coverage, try to place the camera within 330ft of your router in open areas. Dual antennas help maintain a strong connection.
- Storage Management: If using an SD card, regularly back up important footage to prevent loss when the card fills up and overwrites old data. Consider cloud storage for continuous, worry-free recording.
- Security: For security reasons, each camera can only be bound to one Imou account. If you need to transfer ownership or add it to a new account, delete it from the previous account first.
- Zoom Functionality: The camera features 8x digital zoom for closer inspection of details.
