6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your XUDA Wireless Adapter, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
6.1 General Connection Issues
- Adapter Indicator Light: Ensure the adapter's power indicator (blue or red light) is on. If not, check the USB connection.
- Car Compatibility: Double-check that your car model supports wired CarPlay/Android Auto.
- Smartphone Settings (CarPlay): If CarPlay doesn't connect, go to your iPhone's Settings > General > CarPlay. Select the 'smartbox-xxx' device and ensure CarPlay is enabled.
- Smartphone Settings (Android Auto): Ensure you have the latest version of the Android Auto app installed on your phone. If connection issues persist, try clearing the cache and data for 'Google Play services' on your Android phone (Settings > Apps > Google Play services > Storage & cache > Clear cache/Clear data).
- Reset Phone Connections: Turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone, then turn them back on and attempt to reconnect.
- Clear Pairing Record: If issues persist, clear the pairing record for 'smartbox-xxx' from your phone's Bluetooth settings, restart your phone, and then re-pair the adapter.
- Test with Another Phone: If only one specific phone has trouble connecting, try testing the adapter with another compatible phone to rule out phone-specific issues.
6.2 Audio Input/Output Issues
- Other Bluetooth Devices: Check if your smartphone's Bluetooth is connected to other devices (e.g., earphones, smartwatch). Disconnect these devices before connecting to the adapter.
- Audio Output Option: During a call, verify that the 'Audio' output option on your phone or car display is set to CarPlay/Android Auto.
6.3 Adapter Light Stays On After Car is Turned Off
This is normal behavior. Many cars do not immediately cut off power to USB ports when turned off. The adapter's light will go out after a short delay. Its power consumption is minimal and will not drain your car battery.
6.4 Red Indicator Light Blinking
If the red indicator light is blinking continuously (it should normally be solid red when working):
- Ensure the adapter is fully inserted into the car's USB port.
- Try using a male-female USB adapter or a different USB port if available.
6.5 Unable to Automatically Reconnect
- Ensure your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions are turned on and not occupied by other devices when you enter the car.
- Clear the pairing record for the adapter, restart your phone, and re-pair the adapter.
6.6 Multiple Phone Pairing
The adapter can be paired with a maximum of five phones. However, only one device can be connected at a time. If you wish to pair a new phone, you must first cancel the current connection. By default, the adapter's system will automatically connect back to the last used phone.
